Long Engagement - Any 2021 Brides?

Hi, I got engaged in March 2019. My original wedding date was April, 2021. I booked the venue for March 27th, 2021. We decided on a 2021 date because we are paying for everything ourselves and needed time to save money. This way, I get first pick for all the venues and vendor slots and the price usually goes up every year and booking early means locking in those 2019 and 2020 prices. Also, I'm planning everything myself, no wedding planner or additional help. I work a full time job, take care of my family while managing the house hold by myself. So this way, I have plenty of time to plan and not have to rush plus with how expensive weddings are, we definitely need the time to come up with the money at our own pace!!

I got engaged March 2019. We are planning our weddind for May 2021 because although I have some help, we know that we will be the ones mostly paying for our wedding. I am also still currently trying to get ready for nursing school and wanted to at least complete a year of that first!

We got engaged in April 2019. Next month we go to put our deposit on a date, and are planning for 2021. We dated for 4 1/2 years before getting engaged, what’s 2 more years before we get married?! He runs his own business and has business plans to take care of before we get married. I didn’t want to rush making the plans (I feel like a year would be hectic to plan a whole wedding!) so we can take our time and enjoy it.

He popped the question in September 2018 and our wedding is in February 2020. That is pretty long but we are not stressed at all. We budget, save, and plan monthly. A little at a time, no rush. We have deposits done and are preparing to order our invitations.

I have a long engagement planned! We have actually been together for 9 years. Engaged on August 23 2019 and getting married September 25 2021. We bought a house in March and still renovating and getting that together so we wanted to wait until this was completely done before devoting our time to planning a wedding. I’m also in nursing school and had a set back so we figured 2021 would be best after i graduate. I do have an engagement party planned for November and i plan to tell my bridal party there. I know it’s early but when you’re sure you’re sure right? Anyone else have a long engagement and tell their bridal party ?

Yes !! I am a new 2021 bride !! Yes I actually prefer my long engagement but yes we are also paying for everything ourselves and we both have full time jobs as well but we are making it work. My wedding isnt until Aug 2021 but you would think its tomorrow because I am a ball of nerves

Yes, me! We got engaged in November, and originally wanted to get married in Fall 2020, but we've had a lot of personal things happen this year - it's been incredibly difficult. And to have to deal with all the questions, without saying 'I'm just trying to keep us sane with personal / family problems right now, thanks!' is hard. But things are finally hopefully back on track, so we're starting our planning now, and somehow it makes it even sweeter knowing we've made it through everything - and we can make it through anything!

Our plan is to do a small wedding in 2020 and do a big honeymoon (not that big anyway). And save up for the big wedding so everyone can attend. But still indecisive of when (year) and where to place it.

We got engaged March 17, 2019. Chose a long engagement for a few reasons. So we could save money for the wedding and we want to get a house next year. We have friends that are having a wedding September 2020 and we didn’t want try to squeeze in everything with their wedding going on too. And just so we could enjoy our time together as an engaged couple. After the wedding we’re going to have kids and life no longer will be about us.

My fiance proposed on July 14, 2019. We plan to pay for the majority of the wedding with the help from our family. We have a set date for October 2, 2021 but may have to push it back to 2022 if need be. We do not want to take out any loans for the wedding.

I am we got engaged September 2018 and our wedding is May 2020! We really wanted a spring wedding and knew it would be worth the wait and soaking up our engagement! Now we only have about 5 months left I fell like it’s starting to get faster!

We got engaged in December 2018, but looking into 2021. I am in a wedding in June 2020 and attending a family members wedding in November 2020, and I just don't want to have my wedding right before or after those weddings.


We are starting the planning process now and just taking it slow.

My fiancé proposed on August 15, 2019. We are having a long engagement because as of right now he lives in New Jersey and I live in California with my kids. He was planning on moving out here this month but some health issues came up causing him to postpone his move. This works for us cause it gives him time to heal and recover from his surgery and save up since we will be paying for everything ourselves.

My boyfriend Matthew is going to propose to me next couple of years

I got engaged April 2019 and we’re shooting for a June 2021 wedding! I get to finally book my venue in a couple of weeks!

We have been engaged since December 2018, and looking at 2021 April-july, just because now we are weeks away from 2020. We too are trying to save up money though we are getting some help, we have alot of ideas but want to do them on a budget.
