My fiance proposed on January 26th 2019. This is my second marriage and we are paying for everything ourselves, so we're planning a longer than traditional engagement to allow ourselves to budget and save up slowly as opposed to going broke planning the wedding. We also both work over 40 hours a week and don't have a ton of time to devote to the planning

Our wedding date is 1/2/21, anyone else have a long engagement planned?

Yes, we are planning an October 2021 wedding, though I really feel the urge to make it April or May. 😂

My fiancé and I have been together 11 years today and will be married today in 2021. We wanted to keep the date. We waited this long what’s another couple of years right?

Hi- We are having a double wedding. It is going to be both Indian and American traditions and we need to save. We set our date to June 12th 2021 so our planning would be less stressful.

We got engaged April 2019 and are getting married May 2021. I’m 21 and he’s 27 and we’re paying for everything ourselves so a long engagement seemed like a better option as far as money goes. Also, 2 days ago was our 2 year anniversary so we wanted to be together a few more years before taking that step into marriage especially since I’m so young. At our wedding I’ll be 23 and he’ll be 29. That’s why we chose a long engagement. 😊

We got engaged in April 2019 and our wedding is May 2021. My fiance is from France so we are having two weddings and want to give people enough time to save so they can attend both weddings.

    I got engaged 4/14/19.
Wedding day is 3/20/21. Finances. Lol.
We both have amazing full time jobs. But also 4 kiddos 7& under. I need the time to save and pay on everything. And that’s just how long it’ll take. If I had it, we’d get married next year. But it’s just not financially doable for the dramatic wedding I want.

Me 👍🏻 We got engaged in August 2018 and our wedding is 2/14/2021. We are also in the same boat and in process of saving for house so i totally get it. Plus so much less stressful because it gives us time to look into things and pay off longer.

We're getting married next March but got engaged January of 2018! We'll have had a 27 month engagement by the time we get married!

I agree with everyone saying it's so nice. If we would have tried to plan our wedding in a year - 1.5 years I don't know if we could have done it based on everything we're having to pay for! It's so nice to be able to save up for the wedding and not be 100% stressed out about the financial aspect!

Yup! Our engagement will be a smidge under 2 years. We got engaged 12/23/18 and our wedding date is set for 12/12/20.

We we are both taking big exams later this year - he’s taking the bar and I’m finishing up my dietetic internship and will be taking my exam to be a registered dietitian. Getting married this year would be too crazy! We have our venue booked/deposit paid. It’s a bare bones venue, so nothing else is booked, but at least I can breathe now that we have an official date.

My fiancé and I got engaged on October 23rd, 2018 and our wedding isn’t until March 13th, 2021. We’re having a long engagement because aside from my dress and the DJ, our parents are not helping out financially. We decided we wanted to have time to save more money so everything would be perfect. The anticipation is killing me though I can’t wait to marry my best friend!

I did! We got engaged December 10, 2017 and our wedding is set for November 16, 2019. Having a long engagement was amazing because we are also paying out of pocket for our wedding.

My fiancé proposed on Christmas Eve of this last year (2018). We are planning to do most of everything financially wise ourselves. We both work at least 40 hours per week if not more than that. I will also be starting school again in the Fall. With me starting school I wanted to wait until I was done with that to plan the wedding so I can focus on that and not have to stress between school and planning a wedding. I will be done with school in 1 year so that is why we decided on a 2021 date. And not to mention this gives us plenty of time to save up some money to be able to pay for our day! I don't see the point of going broke trying to plan something. We have been dating for almost 6 years now, so I don't see anything changing drastically any time soon.

    Our wedding date is 7/23/21.

We decided on a long engagement because all of our dates are odd year numbers so 17/19/21 ! Also because I am so so busy starting my nursing school I won’t have time to give my 100% into my wedding and I really want to. 10/30/2021 ! ❤️❤️❤️

I am mid August of 2021! We always talked about a short dating and long engagement, mainly because we are young and we want to save as much money as possible! Also it takes me forever to plan and make up my mind

My husband and I are planning a renewal ceremony. We got married in a court house. So for our vow renewal we want something special with our 5 children and our grandchildren. We plan on renting a house on the beach for our whole family.
