Long or Short Engagement?

Longish? We will be engaged for 18 months before getting married.

A long engagement. We'll have been engaged for 2 years and a month when we finally get married.

Short!

We got engaged just before midnight on New Year's Eve of 2018, and we got married at the end of August. We weren't even engaged a full 8 months!

Ours was technically a short engagement. we had our civil ceremony 9 months after engagement. our actually ceremony/reception was 1.5 years after engagement.

Ours was a year, and that seems to be fairly common. So average, probably.

Short! 7 months and closing in on the date!

When we get married it will be over a year long engagement.

It was long. We got engaged on November 27, 2017, and got married last month, October 19, 2019

Long. We got engaged in May 2019 and won't get married until October 2020. 15 months.

We had a short engagement, but only because of our circumstance. I much prefer long engagements, so you can enjoy the planning process and having a fiance. We were engaged for only 8 weeks!! My husband and I had been together for 8 years and he found out he was going to be deploying. We had been talking about marriage for quite some time at that point and knew it was what we wanted, so we decided we wanted to get married before he left. So 8 weeks after getting engaged, we got married. It was crazy!!!! The pros to a short engagement include not second guessing yourself and being able to make decisions quickly. the cons include being super stressed ALL THE TIME!!
