Short engagement - we decided to get married long before getting officially engaged. We started planning several months prior. Our actual engagement will be a little over 10 months.

Long. I am in grad school and we currently are long distance. The long engagement helps make the planning process easier. Our engagement will be just under 2 years.

Our engagement is longer. Precisely 27 months. We wouldn’t have it any other way. Less stress and more time to plan and enjoy each other before the big day.

Short: three months. We did a lot in a short time and still have some to do and we're 16 days out. We DIY'd some things, but there's a lot that isn't DIY. A lot of it is informal, but it's still overwhelming at times.

Dated for 2.5 years, Engaged for 9 months (got engaged Oct 13, 2019, getting married July 4, 2020). It's actually a longer engagement than we wanted, but we had to lengthen it so that my family could attend!

We wanted a short engagement, but it's ending up being 9 months because of family logistics. I'm sure planning a wedding within 3 months is stressful! What was the hardest part?

I think we are right in the middle at 9 months. Got engaged Dec 8th and married Sept 22. We didn't originally plan on only having 9 months to plan but we weren't budging on our date and it was the last time it would be on a weekend and we didn't want to wait 5 more years after being together for 7 years. We were married on our 8th anniversary.

The hardest part is actually getting the dress all altered in time. We didn't get to go dress shopping till November 9 and the wedding is December 21. I go in today to do the last alterations appointment and I'm hoping it's all done correctly. Other than that it's about making sure there's enough room at the venue (it's a friend's house) for everyone. I only expected about 30 people and it's ballooned to 40. I'm super hella nervous and stressed about everything, but those two are the most stressful.

We are having a 16 month engagement so I don’t think that’s too long. I think it’s a good amount of time to plan for everything

Long - 18 months. I wanted 6 months, but he proposed in December. I'm a teacher and I have a school-aged kid, so a summer wedding really makes the most sense for us, logistically. We couldn't do the 6 months because I'm locked into a lease my landlord wouldn't let me out of early for the wedding.Smiley atonished So 18 months it is. Today is actually our engagiversary. Smiley heart

Long - ours will be 2 years and 6 days long by the end... I didn't love the idea and I fought my FH on it, but now I'm actually really grateful we chose this length because we're planning everything from Europe and we'll only have been back twice briefly before the wedding. Smiley surprise For now I can just pick up wedding stuff when I want to and just do the fun stuff like surf Wedding Wire forums and procrastinate... for now! Smiley xd

Short!!!! It’s the primary reason FW and I aren’t officially engaged yet—I want as short of an engagement as possible, which means we need to save a good chunk of money before any rings are involved.

We both have very large and very involved families, and I know myself well enough to know that questions from them about wedding planning will stress me out to no end. I want to have everything as planned and lined up as possible before getting engaged so it can be an expedited process with as few opportunities for our families to butt in as possible
