Longest Couple Married Song Suggestions

Courtney, on May 5, 2016 at 8:05 PM Posted in Community Conversations 0 42

Currently filling forms and questionnaires for our DJ and we haven't decided on what song we want for the "Longest Couple Married" dance. Any suggestions??

Edit: Considering Remember When - Alan Jackson

Following! Our DJ suggested "Remember When" by Alan Jackson, but my FH and I don't care for country music so.....need ideas too! Smiley smile

When I'm 64 - the Beatles. We're actually using this for our first dance as FH will actually be 64 when we marry!

I wasn't aware that this was a thing for weddings. Our DJ didn't ask us about this at all.

We're doing this a little differently. I already know who the longest married couple is and found out their first dance song from their daughter. I'm having it played for them, although they won't dance (she's in a wheelchair).

If you have an idea of who the longest couple will be then have their wedding song ready.

Unforgettable - Nat King Cole/Natalie Cole -- we've heard this one at a couple weddings for this dance because the people who have to keep dancing the longest are typically older and so people pick a song geared toward them.

We are using "I'll be seeing you " by Billie Holiday.

We used Remember When- Alan Jackson, that's what our DJ said most people used.

Misty by Johnny Mathis is what we are using, as it was their song.

Gryffin - you don't have to do one. I've only seen it done once or twice at weddings I've been to but some couples choose it. Depends on your crowd. Neither of us have grandparents so it doesn't really fit us at all.

Oh, I love the Beatles suggestion! Outside of the first dance, this is the only other traditional dance we plan on keeping although I think the winner will be FH parents (my grandparents divorced and later remarried and his grandfather's have passed).

Sone people do this instead of the bouquet/garter toss. It's not required.

I was thinking of "Grow Old Along With Me" by Mary Chapin Carpenter.
