Looking For a Not So Expensive Venue

Breeonna, on June 17, 2024 at 4:13 PM Posted in Ohio Planning 0 4
Hello, I just got engaged and we have our date set in June of 2025. Me and my fiancé have been trying to find an outside venue for our wedding & reception but I’m so lost. Everything is so expensive and I’m just a broke girl in her twenties. If anyone has any recommendations or thoughts I would be soooo grateful. little-girl-cute.gif

Where do you live? Here in NC there is a wedding Venue called Oakland Farms (look on Instagram), where they do weddings starting at 13k for 25 guests

This is the cheapest one I know

While I know that it can be tempting to have a wedding outdoors, sometimes seasons can be "temper mental" in Ohio, and thunderstorms can roll in! It is always (in my opinion) a good idea to invest in a venue with indoor options for the ceremony and reception if the weather takes a turn for the worst.

Not sure where you are in Ohio, but here are some ideas:

-Courthouse wedding with or without a reception at a different location.
Note: Some courthouses may have courtyards or outside areas.

    -Hotels with wedding packages

-A church and the church hall

    -Springfield Township Gazebo in Akron.

    -Aston Oaks Golf Club

    -The Wooster Inn

    -Westerville Community Center

    -Oak Ridge Lodge

    -Big Creek Park in Chardon

    -Blue Heron Lake
-The Meadows Casino in Pittsburgh, PA (not too far from East Liverpool, OH).
    -North Bank Park Pavilion

    -Penthaus OTR

    -Mt. Echo Park Pavilion

-If a destination wedding wrapped up with a honeymoon is an option, look at Wedgewood Weddings.

Public venues are usually cheaper. For example there is a beautiful city courthouse near me that does wedding ceremonies and I think the fee is only $2,000. It’s also cheaper on weekdays. How much were you hoping to spend? I’d say it’s going to be hard to find any venue besides a park that’s under $1,500. You could do an over the top backyard wedding if you know someone with a big yard.
