Looking for a unique venue that won't break the bank

Sarah, on June 29, 2020 at 8:00 PM Posted in Planning 0 7
We are hunting for a venue in southern Maine that is AFFORDABLE. When I say affordable I don't mean 20k! 🤭 We are looking at a very small casual wedding of only about 50 people. Indoor with the option for outdoor is fine, but strictly indoor won't work cause we can't bank on good old Maine weather. And I'm all set on the "barn" wedding. Anyone have a fresh idea? Anyone? I'm at a loss!!!! Maybe a restaurant or campground? Let me know what you've seen that's cool. Thank you! 🙂

Have you checked the venue tab at the top of the page? Try eventective.com as well.

Ouf well here in New England Unfortunately have some of the highest wedding prices in the country, but some suggestions would be if you don’t mind having a weekday wedding you can save thousands by doing this. Most vendors and also venues will give you huge discounts do you have your wedding on a Thursday as opposed to a Saturday

I would look at campgrounds or parks. I don’t know Maine, but my venue in NC is a county parks and rec run park. I’ve reserved the amphitheater and community center. I’m praying for good weather. The plan is the ceremony will be outdoors at the amphitheater and the reception in-and-out at the community center.

Oh and my price for both amphitheater and community is less that $500.

As PP you can try a park or the beach (but those are outdoors). I live in MA and am having my wedding in MA but I have found Sunday or Friday weddings on off peak season can save you a lot of money. With only 50 people you probably won't be able to do a venue on a Saturday since most Saturday minimums are 100-150 guests. You might be able to rent a hall but that usually comes with having to find a separate caterer, cake, DJ, etc.

Perhaps a park, beach, or other public place? I don’t live in Maine, but here in the Midwest, barns are one of the most expensive wedding venues. Try to find a space that allows you to pick your own caterer and bring in your own drinks- that will save you a lot of money!

I'm going with an arts and entertainment center. Super affordable.
