Looking for movie suggestions

Liz, on November 14, 2020 at 10:48 AM Posted in Parties and Events 0 13
I know this may be a bit strange but my daughter has never been to a wedding and she really wants to learn more about them. I was looking for suggestions of movies that have a decent amount of wedding material that would be appropriate for an older child (9-10 y/o) so she can learn more about ceremonies and the like. I'm not much of a rom com person and I know that's what genre I'll find this stuff in. So any help would be appreciated.

Honestly, most of the rom-coms that I'm familiar with might be a little mature for a 9/10 year old (though it obviously depends on the child), so I would watch them first, were I you. However:

    27 Dresses

    Bride Wars

There's a wedding in The Proposal

Bride Wars with Anne Hathaway is cute and from what I remember kid friendly. They are very bridezilla and compete with each other but at the end they learn that’s not what important and remain friends
I am sure there are others but that’s all I can think of off the top of my head.

Father of the Bride and My Big Fat Greek Wedding are both rated PG.

Sometimes bridal TV shows like my fairytale wedding are good to view. That show talks about the preparation of weddings that people are having at Disney World, and they show a large portion of the day, from the ceremony to the reception. Also, if you YouTube wedding videos you can show her those too

There's no tv show or movie that is remotely accurate how they really run. Father of the Bride might be closest. Other movies and shows such as 4 Weddings are nowhere near close.

These are the 2 I'd choose.

The are a little dated, but they do show some of the process and the actual day. Still pretty funny, too.

MBFGW does have a scene or two that's a little grown-up, but no skin.
