I feel so out of place in most of these forums. I'm looking for my tribe to discuss planning ideas. I'm not so concerned about typical wedding things or what the majority considers the right way to do things. I feel like you know your own friends and family and my what is acceptable in your circle....
I feel so out of place in most of these forums. I'm looking for my tribe to discuss planning ideas. I'm not so concerned about typical wedding things or what the majority considers the right way to do things. I feel like you know your own friends and family and my what is acceptable in your circle. This is a second marriage. We're in our 40s. We're planning something small, outdoors, with Pagan elements... Less than 50 guests... extremely small budget.


Anyone in the same mindset and want to share ideas? Feel free to say hello!

    I think that we’re both sort of “over” trying to plan anything big at this point and I suggested that we just do something tiny at our house/backyard this summer. So we’re thinking a bbq in June!

    I would get a different dress and sell the one that I bought from David’s Bridal. I’m thinking something like this.

    Hello friends!

    I haven't been around.

    We are STILL attempting to buy this house. It's complicated and they couldn't find anyone to appraise the thing. It's supposed to be appraised the 1st. We're SUPPOSED to close on the 11th. We shall see. It's been nothing but drama since the offer was accepted. If we didn't love it, we'd let it fall through.

    In other news...

    We started out wanting to have a bigger wedding at a girl scout camp. We then decided that it's money we don't need to spend. We were then going to have a smaller back yard wedding. We still don't know if this house will happen and if we will have a back yard. The more we talk, the more we realize we don't want a big ceremony. We just want to be married. We want it special to us and we don't want to worry about extensive costs or making everyone happy.

    That being said...we're eloping! Pennsylvania does self-uniting marriage licenses. That means, we need us and two witnesses to sign the license and Boom...we're married. We plan on renting an AirBNB for Chris, Me, my best friend and her husband (who Chris and I are both really close with), doing a small ceremony at the AirBNB, going out to a nice dinner somewhere, and spending the weekend doing whatever else we want. The date will be October 29, 2022!

    We have not decided if we are going to tell anyone about the elopement. So, you guys and Beth and Shane (our best friends) are the only ones who know.

    I love that plan! You’ll be able to take some beautiful pictures with the leaves changing too. We’re having a much smaller wedding on May 6th and a big reason for still having a “wedding” is that I want to wear my dress.

    I now own two dresses that I won't use for the wedding/elopement.

    I'm looking for something specific and can't find what I want for this.

    I want -

    • Something pretty for the elopement, but not too formal that I have to change before going out to a nice dinner.

    • I prefer Burgundy, Champagne or Black

    • I am short, chubby and have big boobs. I like things that accentuate the chest, but minimize the belly.

    So...I had a feeling I should go to the thrift store today. Like I need another dress...but since we're eloping now..I wanted something super simple.

    I found this! $9.99. Now, I KNOW I need a better beige push up bra. Other than that, I am not sure if I like it better with or without the trumpet petticoat and I don't know if I will use my cape.

    On the same boat! Just us two in the woods, my dad is going to officiant the ceremony. Our parents and like 5 close friends will be there. We have a tony budget, really would like to spend 1k on the attire and legalities. Throwing a bbq & brews couple party the weekend before and going out to dinner after the ceremony, simple, not stressful. Quick and easy

    150 days for us! We need to get my divorce decree since I lost it in a house fire so we can get our marriage license in a few months! We also seriously need to get looking for a ring for Chris.
