Looking for white sharpies...

Malayia, on January 1, 2018 at 5:46 PM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 17
We are having guests sign a sign similar to this as a guestbook. I’ve searched for white sharpies and the only ones I’ve found are oil-based which I’m concerned will come out too quickly/heavy and smear or end up on their hands. This is also an outdoor wedding so the temperature will be too low for a marker like that to dry quickly. Im looking for fine-medium point, I’ve looked online at Target, Walmart, Hobby Lobby and Amazon and the only thing I’ve found that isn’t oil-based is metallics, no white. Help!

Also, these are markers for the guests to sign with, not to write our last name in.

I don't think you'll find those other than white paint markers that are fast drying, as I too searched for something similar for my black business cards. Or maybe a white out pen. Or go with silver sharpies, those are my go to.

I think the oil based one's would work well for you though. Maybe just give it a try with a test run?

We’ll be hanging it on the wall so I’m afraid the silver metallic sharpies won’t be as visible and look kinda cheap. I may just buy the oil based markers if I can’t find white ones.

I bought oil based markers for this same sign and we wrote on the back to test it. It works great!! Plus I used them to write on chalkboard signs for the wedding.

I'm not sure there are white sharpies, but they do have white paint pens or white chalk pens which don't wipe off without water.

PAINT MARKERS! If thinly written (buy a thin paint pen), they dry fairly quickly, and will last forever just like sharpie! I'm pretty sure sharpie even makes paint pens, but McMaster-Carr is a company that I know has some and will ship to you, otherwise check home depot or lowes!

That was going to be my suggestion as well. They do bleed a little bit though pending your medium.
