Looking to have a wedding in pa or nj with a budget of $15,000.

Stephanie, on February 21, 2019 at 5:43 PM Posted in Pennsylvania Planning 0 7

Hey everyone - the sticker shock is really hitting my fiance so I want to look into options of a smaller budget. Any suggestions or tips are appreciated!

Thank you!

First off, slash your guest list. Really try to narrow it down. I opted on having a microwedding of 20 guests or less and it really made things affordable, easy and stress-free.

I'm getting married on a Friday in the Poconos. Friday saved us 15 dollars a head for our venue/food. There are a ton of options out there. You have to decide how many people you want to invite and what you're will to do. I am not willing to do a single project haha. So I would rather have a smaller wedding with less work. DIYing helps to save money but for me, I'd rather have my time! Any specific area in pa you're looking at?

Also, look into venues that are public or city-owned. Such as parks, city pavilions, usually they are quite affordable.

I also opted for a weekday wedding, which all of my guests can make. That made things a lot more affordable.

I am from the Philadelphia area so really anywhere within 2 hours of there I would be open to. I will have to look into the Poconos! Thank you!

    Tara,

This is what I am looking into now, I would love the ceremony to be on a lake or some sort of body of water so i was looking at state parks as a ceremony site.

Gotcha. I'm from Schwenksville lol which is in Montgomery county. But I like in Wilkes Barre currently. The poconos have a lot of great options. I'm getting married at the boiler room at the Hawley Silk Mill. It's super beautiful. There s waterfalls out back. Also silver birches is lakefront and lacwac sanctuary is a very cool place in the poconos. Good luck!
