Ok

i guess if I had a question it would be that I’m looking for comments and opinions

i dont even know how to upload pics so jm hoping the links work

OK, as the Post says I have a lore of the rings theme. Basically we’re going to have Gandolf the white officiate and my niece is going to be Frodo the ringbearer we also will have my dad walking me down the aisle is Gimli and then joining My fiancé as a groomsman then Boromir and Faramir the other two groomsman.

Since the female characters are limited I was going to let people dress up as which ever one they want it so I’m going to have more than one because it was a sexiest time lol

I’ve been shopping all around and decided to do my reception With each table representing a place in middle earth.

Will have Minas Tirith, the shire, Moria, wilderland, A troll cave, a troll horde, erebor, Gondor, Rivendell, Lorien,, Mordor, Rohan, Mirkwood, the old Forest, And emyn Muil.

For flowers I am using the origami roses and Callalily‘s made from tokiens works

Colors are dark blue white and silver and gold

Each table will have its own design pattern every guest table and most the others will have a unique centerpiece and each will become part of our badass lotr collection after the big day

im think no rehearsal

for or wedding party gifts we’re thinking tankard style beer mugs with prancing pony logo

favors will be 1 wine glass with 1 ring wording etching around top and lemon cookie with lotr design

im wearing a blue dress and using a blue with white fur lined cloarks for bridal party mine with white out theirs with blue out probably

im Also planning to use manzanita branches spray-painted silver with gold leaves glued onto represent him a Mallorn tree in winter for Lorien. Putting tree in blue base and using led tea light and beads in vase to give more effect. piece of driftwood with glazed rocks (so they look wet) and miss as base for old forest centerpiece so I can get some height

im sure I’m forgetting more than I listed but such is the nature of the beast lol

we are providing our own open bar (pretty full) and doing pulled pork, rotisserie chicken, green beans, corn on the cob, and Mac and cheese with lemon cake donuts and undecided cake flavor probably apple with Carmel filling and cream cheese icing

im doing break style apps for wedding party while we decorate and get ready and then after supper doing all style food again because I feel like people need food with alcohol

ok i I really gotta leave it there for now lol

That sounds absolutely beautiful! Do you have an alternative guestbook as well as the traditional one? A map of Middle Earth, Tree of Gondor flag, or something like that for guests to sign could be cool. I love all the little details! Will you wear an Evenstar necklace or themed jewelry?

originally I was going to do a white tree but I just don’t see what I’m supposed to do to the tree and cards except store it forever and probably never look at it again except to move or trash it because I’m not having a stick with cards in the middle of my really nice Tolkien collection

As far as jewelry I’m thinking my bridesmaids will like it so I’m probably getting 1 for each, but in all honesty I’m plain Jane: I don’t wear makeup or jewelry or “do my hair” so I’m not trying to be someone else that day either

I understand apparently everyone is disappointed I’m not going to have a professional updo and that freaky stage makeup with a bunch of crap hanging off of me that I’m dying to rip off but after 14 years Glenn knows who I am and still wanted to marry me so I’m sure he would rather marry me than a made up, jeweled, and updoed stranger

It sounds like you have your plan well-formed. Good luck to you. I have an extensive Tolkien collection as well and it's always nice to see others appreciate his work in their own ways and styles.

Love all of the wood! Oooh...looks like a nice spot outdoors if the weather behaves too. Thanks for sharing! I love seeing the venue when couples choose a theme because it's easier to visualize the decor.

i feel like venue is paramount to mood if you’re doing a theme

thats why we selected this location

i think the wood and fireplace along with the double staircase gives a nice effect for the theme

Totally! It's so much easier to decorate if the venue already suits the theme. We fell in love with our wine cave for our pirate reception the moment we saw it online and once we visited and stepped inside. Before decor:
wine cave at Calistoga Ranch, CA
The venue made me tear up more than finding my dress! Congrats on finding yours. Can't wait to see your LOTR decor come together. I love that theme.
