Slim fast. I could never do it for a long time, and im not sure how healthy it is, but it works if you can stick with it, and make sure your sensible dinners really are sensible.

No sugar, no dairy, no red meat, no wheat, no gluten, no alcohol, no pop, no white potatoes, no corn, no empty carbs, no fried food, no diet foods, nothing processed and lean protein at every meal plus cardio and you will be fine! Bulk up on veggies and protein so you arent starving and make sure you drink roughly 70 oz of water per day (with lemon slices to help cleanse your body!) and take a multi vitamin

    Exactly what jk8115 said.

A general rule that works quite well if you can stick to it (depending on what your current diet is) is to have 20 grams of carbohydrates per day but stick with the good ones, no processed foods, eat only foods you prepare and definitely veggies, protein and water!

What most people don't realize is that just by changing your diet you can really make a change in your weight.

Include some lifting as well, the old muscle burns more calories than fat is true.

I agree to a certain extent. However, I do not recommend 20g of carbs per day! I am currently in "cutting" phase mode, meaning I am leaning out and I am consuming 60g of carbs on my LOW carb days. And even 60g of carbs per day is too low for the average person. I need to carb cycle because you need high carb days to replenish glycogen in your liver - keeps energy from completely becoming low. Going too low (20g) can cause the body to use protein as energy instead of carbs and fat. Which in turn can cause muscle to lose the fullness and flatten out.

I would do whatever Fit Bride says pretty much. I would also drink a ton of water.

See a doctor, vs. getting medical advice from random people on the Internet.

That much weight loss in such a short time is unrealistic, unhealthy, and dangerous. A more realistic, sustainable goal is to lose about 1/2 pound a week, with occasional plateaus.

Liposuction? Seriously, I agree with Shannon-- unless you are currently morbidly obese, 20 lbs in two months is not realistic or healthy (and I don't just mean you'll be hungry-- you could develop acid-base imbalances that will put you in the hospital or could kill you).

10-15 lbs is closer to possible-- use a site like myfitnesspal to count your calories, and exercise every day.

I would like to clarify - I am definitely NOT advocating people cut carbs completely. I am saying cut "junk" carbs...white potatoes, bread, corn, pasta, cereal, etc. Plenty of GOOD/HEALTHY foods have carbs such as quinoa, brown rice, sweet potatoes, beans, fruit etc.

I lost a ton of weight very easily - although much more slowly than in two mos - just by changing my diet. And I also did do some working out 2-4x per week - but not very consistently - in this order: light cardio warm up, weight lifting (light) then real cardio. Occasionally I did attend a yoga class but again, nothing consistent.

From Jan 2 - May 19 last year, I went down by 30lbs, and this was mostly just switching from a highly processed "diet food", "convenience food" and just regular old junk food diet to a healthy and clean diet. Yes it takes a TON of preparation, yes you WILL have to cook, and it can be a pain to follow it, but it DOES work!

I stopped the super clean healthy lifestyle in the summertime in preparation for a biopsy to check for celiac disease and I really haven't done a good job of getting back on it completely, although I do tend to still be mindful of cleaner foods etc. It was amazed at how easily I put back 8lbs on, and I don't even want to talk abt inches. But much, much more importantly I felt and looked just sooo much better when I was maintaining a healthier lifestyle and eating habits. Skin, nails, hair, energy, etc.

Its possible to slim down considerably if you follow a clean diet. But I would definitely NOT focus on losing exactly 20lbs. I would focus on slimming down before your wedding and also looking/feeling great. Don't be a slave to the scale!

EDITED: To be more "reader" friendly, I always forget to use my paragraphs Smiley smile

Depending on your size, 20 lbs in 2 months is TOTALLY doable with just a basic diet (cutting out all the junk and focusing on leans, greens, and cleans). Most diets you will lost several lbs (say 3-4) in the first 2 weeks, then 2 a week after that. In 8 weeks, you can lose 18 to 20 pounds no problem. Add cardio in there, and you will be GOLDEN.

20# sounds unrealistic and unhealthy to me. Plus statistics show that when you loose weight rapidly you will not keep it off. A slow and steady weight loss is healthier and you will get longer lasting results.

I am not an expert however, just my opinions and thoughts. Good luck to you!!

With what everyone said above, you could lose about 2-3 lbs. a week for healthy weight loss, so it is possible.

Work out and try My Fitness Pal. When my cousin got married, I added Amy Dixon's 10 min videos (my workout routine before was just walking every so often) and dropped 20 pds in a month. But I was sedentary, so there was room for improvement on the fitness side and have kept it off for the last 5 years. Her videos have 10 min of cardio, 10 minute upper body, 10 min lower body, 10 min yoga and 10 min on the stability ball. It's from women's health magazine.

I'm going to be juicing. My "plan" is to eat a large healthy nutritious breakfast with protein and carbs and then for lunch and dinner I'll have either a homemade yogurt and fruit smoothie or juice some veggies depending on how I feel.

I watch that Fat, Sick and Nearly Dead on Netflix or Hulu and got the idea. Maybe there's a way to make it work for you (since he did 60 days of JUST juicing.

KT-V, that's just not realistic. If I wanted to lose 20 pounds on the double, I'd just lop off an arm.

    Lol @ Shannon.

Mojay- It's ok to want to look good for your wedding, but I guarantee you no one will care if you lose 20lbs. Your friends and family love you how you are. It's better to make long term changes to be heathier. Losing 20 lbs in 2 months is going to cause you more stress than it's worth.

Thank you guys for your input. Yeah I think I will just aim for 12lb within the next 2month period in order for me to keep it off long term. I just want to be healthy my wedding isn't until December of this year soo I should have enough time. I lost 32lbs two years ago and maintained it until now. Now I'm still at the plateau phase since then and I workout 4 times a week every week faithfully but I just need a way to trigger weight loss again.
