Losing weight before wedding

Haydee, on September 18, 2017 at 5:15 PM Posted in Fitness and Health 0 29

Hey girls!

My wedding is in December and I want to lose some weight. My dress fits great but I want to look and feel better in areas like my face slimming down, arms, etc. Did anyone or is anyone trying to lose some weight before wedding? If so, I would love to know what you are doing. I'm not going for anything drastic I just want to lose about (10-15lbs)

Cutting out juice, soda, or anything besides water. Just keep drinking water.

    No sugar or treats.

That in addition to exercising 2-3 x a week and it should be a nice natural nudge in the right direction. You got this.

I'm doing keto! If you Google it there is tons of info. It's great because it's not a diet, it's a lifestyle change. Plus, I don't ever feel like I'm starving. I've lost 37lb since April 16 (would've been more but I cheated a lot lol).

My best advice is don't buy into gimmicks or certain "diets". Practice portion control. Drink more water. Move around more. Walk the dog a mile further than usual. Pay attention to what you're actually putting into your body and stay consistent.

Exercise (cardio) at least 30 minutes, 3 days a week

Drink at least 8, 8 oz waters a day

Try and eat mostly vegetables, fruit, lean meat or protein and healthful fats while limiting your intake of sweets, alcohol, butter, and other junk food

This should at least be a good start and then you can amp things up in November!

I am trying to do the same, but not for my wedding.. Just to be happier and healthier. I don't know what your problems are, but I love snacking. So I am currently doing an appetite control diet where I eat on schedule times throughout the day. I only drink water and the occasional tea. I snack on veggies, cheeses, olives, and fruits. I don't try to cut out good food, but I try to make sure the snacks aren't constant and they are healthy. I also stopped drinking alcohol.

I am really busy, I usually work 12-14 hour days, so squeezing in a workout is hard. This morning I had an extra 10 minutes so I ran on the treadmill. But anything will work. You can youtube 'quick 10 minute workout', and tons of stuff will pop up. FH said he wants us to start running together, so I maybe might start doing that when I can Smiley smile

Step one for me is getting my stomach under control by adding more fiber and water to my diet. Then I intend to add cardio as part of a daily routine - Either walking, riding a bike, or jogging. I am going to see how I feel around January since I don't have too much to lose. If I'm not happy then I will join a gym because my diet already consists of mostly veggies.

Me too. No soda, less booze (I'm too Irish to give it up completely), not as many sweets, portion control, and counting calories.

I lost 15 pounds because of stress and going off my bc so we can start making a baby... no cokes, no excess sugar, stay away from salt because of bloating and retaining excess water, and walking! Drink lots and lots of water! Hahah! I didn't even plan on it and it was awesome news for this last week of wedding stuff!!!

If your goal is just to lose weight... CICO. Obviously eating more vegetables and less dessert is good for you, but you could still overeat and gain weight eating healthy food.

I am in love with my Fitbit! I have been trying not so hard, since December and I'm down 10 lbs! No soda, lots of water, more walking, more small meals throughout the day and the biggest thing for me, which is portion control. If I track it all in the fitbit, I'm less likely to snack here and there as I notice it more. This has helped so much with eating the right calories and times. I bought my dress on Saturday though, so I expect to ramp up the effort. Good luck!

Honestly my FH and I go for 3 hour walks on the weekends (both days), have water most of the time and have one salad a day with baked chicken (dinner). We loose about 3-4 lbs a week

Lift weights as well as cardio. Building muscle strength will help with overall fat loss and muscle toning.

Clean up your diet - lean protein, lots of veggies, healthy fats (nuts, avocado etc), cut out processed food, soda, sugar and alcohol. Losing weight is 90% diet 10% exercise, however if you lift weights you will get toned, and the more muscle mass you have, the more calories your body naturally burns. MyFitnessPal is a really useful tool to track your calorie and macro intake.

I just joined weight watchers and I love it! It's simple and easy to do. I've lost 5 pounds in 2.5 weeks-but I also have more to lose. 3 months of online only is around $45-50 I think and you get a recipe book and measuring cups.

I've lost 10 pounds in 3 weeks literally from just cutting out soda. (I was drinking a lot.) Now I drink mostly water, and a little bit of milk. Soda was my caffeine source, and I don't drink coffee or tea, so that was the hardest part.

For me, the hardest thing is not eating out. FH and I were doing it 1-2 times every day for months. So I've cut that down to once a week if I can help it. I also decided to go to the gym 4 days a week, but it's because I work from home now and I feel really lonely cooped up in the house all day. Feels good to get up and get moving, especially since I literally roll out of bed into working.

I'm really not overweight, but I would just feel a lot better if I could lose a few pounds. I can't lose too much or my dress won't fit (eek!) but 10-20 more pounds and I'll be at what I was in high school. I'm not rushing the process, but just trying to be healthier in general and hoping my weight follows suit.

    Good luck!

I've lost 26 pounds since June as a health insurance incentive through work. Honestly, don't buy into gimmicks and realize that you can't outrun a bad diet.

I use the MyFitnessPal app to help me track my calories and nutrients, and I hit the gym at least five times a week with lots of cardio, but also some weight training.

I lost about 25 lbs. pretty easily through weight watchers, but then the loss stagnated after I started cheating. That was more than a year ago, but I kept off that first 25. I've lost about 10 more lbs. by still mostly following a healthy eating plan, and walking more whenever I can. I take 20-30 minutes right after lunch and walk around the parking lot at work (it's about 1.5 miles for 2 loops).

I plan to start to stick to weight watchers more closely, and my main problem is cutting down/out alcohol.
