Losing weight for the big day

Angel, on November 28, 2018 at 1:59 AM Posted in Fitness and Health 0 5
I have been struggling with my weight for the last 4 years, it seems no matter what I did I just kept bloating up and seeing pounds being added to the scale. I have time since I’m not getting married until 2020, but does anyone have any tips for losing weight? I only would like to lose 30-40 pounds before my wedding. Is that unrealistic?

You have time! The best, longest lasting results will be slow, but you have plenty of time. Subtract no more than 500 calories per day from your recommended amount based on your height and weight (MyFitnessPal or other websites have online calculators). This will ensure that you will start to lose about 2 lbs a week. Now the best way to speed this process up is with a clean diet, as it will help with the bloating. Working out will also make this process go by quicker and firm things up. Heavy weight lifting will help increase your metabolism because it will increase your muscle mass. You won’t get bulky or manly so don’t be afraid or worry about that! Also, 30 minutes of cardio is the recommended amount. Anymore than that can be counterproductive to the lean muscle tissue that you are trying to build. This will help tone your body! However, none of this will work without proper nutrition. Make sure you are getting proper amounts of carbs, fats, and proteins and do not leave out a nutrient like some of the fad diets out there say!!!! It will ruin your metabolism later on if you do so!!!

best of luck to you! You’ve got this, I believe in you! Just believe in yourself and give yourself love and grace throughout this process Smiley smile

If you've been struggling with this for a while and haven't had much success on your own, I'd consider Weight Watchers. It is grounded in basic good nutrition, and potentially supplies you with the support and structure that might help you make progress. I first joined nearly 35 years ago, and lost 30+ lbs within a few months. I've been a Lifetime member, mostly at goal, for more than 30 years with just about every version of the program since then. The program has never been easier and/or more flexible. It taught me good nutrition and healthy habits that have not only benefited me, but my family. Good luck to you!

I was going to the gym and not losing a pound I soon figured out it was due to my birth control soon as I stopped getting the depo the pounds slowly started coming off I have 20 lb to go till I am at the goal I want to be for my wedding. I use portion control and I go to the gym 3 time a week and I also work out at home. It can be done you just have to figure out what's best for you.

I agree with the previous post about weight watchers! I started WW in January 2017 and lost 20lbs, made lifetime as well and have maintained my weight loss since then.

I agree with what the others are saying about WW. I was skeptical at first because I was losing about 1lb per week on my own by just walking more (getting about 15,000 steps a day) and I joined a boxing gym, but WW has helped tremendously. My wedding isn't until May 2020 but my goal was to be at my goal weight by May 2019 and to be able to maintain it until the wedding. Since I joined WW one month ago i have lost 12lbs! I have passed my goal that i was working for by New Years and am hoping to be at my goal weight by Feb 2020. I would seriously consider WW!
