Losing Weight for the big day

Breanna, on July 21, 2020 at 6:38 PM Posted in Fitness and Health 1 9
Hi guys! ❤️

I need some advice! I’m trying to lose some weight for the big day. My wedding is May 29th, 2021, so I have quite a bit of time! I just want to look the best I can! I currently weight 180 lbs at 5’7-5’8. I want to lose about 30 lbs.
What did you guys do that worked for you that gave you amazing results?? Diet and workout routine wise? I am very active. I workout about 5 times a week. I was losing weight, but I have just plateaued. All of this Covid stuff is making it pretty hard for me too.
Any advice would be so appreciated! ❤️

FH and I actually hired a personal trainer to keep us on our toes. She provides meal plans as well which has been a great help.

I am using an app called Lose It. It helps track what I eat and keeps me accountable. I don’t really work out as much as I should but I have still lost 20 pounds and would like to lose another 10.

Don’t stress and yes, you have plenty of time. My wedding is in December and I started in May. I have to start alterations in early October so I have time but it goes by quick. I purposely bought my dress a size smaller but don’t do that since life is stressful.
    Good Luck!

I was very successful with keto. It’s hard and restrictive but it worked and I usually have a terrible time losing weight.

Diet is the key to weight loss and exercise is the cherry on top. Make sure you are eating clean. Lean protein, veggies, fruit that’s low in sugar like berries, complex carbs. Track your eating in an app like My Fitness Pal to make sure you’re burning more calories than you eat. Change up your workout routine if you’ve hit a plateau. If you’re always doing the same general workouts your body has probably gotten used to it. My favorite exercise app is Aaptiv. SPRINTS! Sprints really help with weight loss, as well as HIIT workouts.

I was about your weight and height when I began my weight loss journey about 5 years ago. It took about 2 years for me to take off 46 pounds (186 down to 140). I hired a personal trainer, worked out 4-5 days a week (1 hour weight lifting, 15-30 minutes cardio), and ate a strict **** calorie per day diet with lots of veggies, lean protein, and very little processed carbohydrates. It was a long road and required a ton of discipline. You’ll have to weigh whether that kind of commitment is something you’re up for; I didn’t eat anything that didn’t fit in my calorie goal for those 2 years, but at the time, it was definitely worth it for me. Since then, I’ve made the decision to not be as lean as I was as I’m not in the same disciplined head space as I was and maintaining my lowest weight was not something that I could easily do long term. I’d recommend adding weights to your workouts if you’re not already and tracking everything you eat (MyFitnessPal is great) so you can see where you can cut down. At the end of the day, weight loss comes down to consuming fewer calories than you’re exerting.

I’ve been dieting since January and I’ve lost 53lbs and 10.5 inches. I dropped 3 dress sizes. I’ve been doing keto and it’s been amazing. It’s tough and you must be strong willed. I do allow myself a cheat day once a week to enjoy the treats I miss so badly. The cheat days actually boost my body and keeps my metabolism up.

I started IF (intermittent fasting) along with an intake of only 1200 calories a day. I started July 1st, and have lost 8 lbs so far. I have done nothing but fast 16 hours a day, eat healthier options, and stick to under 1200 calories. It works wonders and I feel amazing! I also want to lose about 30lbs and I am excited to finally be seeing results after many failed attempts. I have an app that keeps me on track and it is super easy! Seeing other people's success stories help me stay on track. Good luck!

I'm not losing weight but I'm losing inches. My maid of honor is a registered dietician at a hospital and has been for like 5 or 6 years now. She said if I cut down my eating to 1800 calories and have balanced meals with my added fitness programs (Beachbody and blogilates) I should the inches I want for my June 2021 wedding.

It's been 1 month of 3 workouts a day and I've lost 2 inches. Nothing in pounds but I'm trying to gain muscle.
Beachbody Barre program makes you lose inches fast!! One week of it is what got me down those 2 inches. I stopped because of boredom but it's an 8 week program.
I like blogilates because it's free on YouTube and I've gotten good results from her challenges too. Plus they are shorter than usual so about the time I get bored is when it ends.
I stopped drinking soda, eating processed sugars like candy bars or snack cakes. I've cut down my carb intake but didn't cut it out. I also am starting to drink fresh squeezed juices because I hate veggies and it's the only way i get what I need.
Everyone is different and you just have to find what works for you but absolutely best food wise is balanced meals around **** calories a day. 1800 if you are very overweight but 2000 if you just want to lose a little.

I’m doing Weight Watchers and Beach Body, both of which I love! I’ve been on WW for 8 months, and have lost 63 pounds. I am about a month in BB and it’s amazing. It’s helping me lose inches and tone up a bit. I def recommend them both!
