Losing weight for the wedding?

Gabbie, on January 5, 2020 at 3:36 PM Posted in Fitness and Health 0 17
So who's planning on cutting a couple inches off the waistline for the wedding?? On such short notice, do you think its possible to do healthfully? If so, how? What should i target at the gym in order to look good in a dress? I feel like its not like its going to show off my belly, but I should maybe tone up my arms? What else? Shame the traditional color is white with how unflattering it can be for us ladies

Me! I was pretty lazy for a long while but I started in November. My plan was to work hard so I can lose weight for my bridal shower which is coming up and keep going so I can look best in my dress. I workout at home so I cant give u advice on what to use at the gym. But all I can say is eat healthy, be strong willed, and strive for a workout complete (which means stay on track & get ur workouts done. Make the time & work hard). Also counting calories using an app might help if u dont really know much about calorie intake.

I eat healthy, watch what I eat. I do boxing with a punching bag in my garage 2days x week and lift weights 2days. I still have a long ways to go before im happy w my results but its a big work in progress. Find a routine that works for you! Good luck!!

I see that you aren’t getting married until May 2021 so you have plenty of time to create a plan to tone and lose inches. Eat healthy, drink lots of water and exercise.

I would just do some toning exercises at the gym. I have been upping back work for my dress and tomorrow kicking off my no sugar detox then just doing low carb.

Just remember you can’t spot reduce when it comes to fat loss. If you’re trying to lose weight you have to go into the gym knowing you’ll be in a caloric deficit. If you don’t know what your RMR (resting metabolic rate) is aka what your current caloric intake should be, I’d encourage you to see an RD or find an exercise physiologist that can find that out for you. That way, you know what your maintenance calories are and what fat loss calories should be.

Ik like, generally that my rmr is kind of low bc of health issues. Not an excuse bc ik its not a reason why I couldnt lose weight or something, im just saying like im okay off less than 1000 per day even w/ gym. Like, ik my body, but it might be nice to see someone if i feel like i should be losing weight, but cant. I never thought of doing that before, so thanks.
Another heath related issue i have is birth control, and if you ever tried it youd know what i mean. So, idk how to deal with this water weight thing. It could be helpful just to talk w/ a professional

Ik i cant spot reduce btw, and thats why i do mostly leg workouts bc its the biggest muscle and will cut everything down the quickest (biggest calorie deficit). Im just looking at what should i tone post run?

I am also trying to lose weight. I am making healthier choices in food and portions, tracking calories, eating keto, and doing intermittent fasting (16:8). I am exercising 4x a week but that’s not new (and honestly weight loss is 90% diet so put your energy there!)

Well, im a healthy weight, and I make good choices, which leads me to believe that the things that are bothering me about my body are less my weight and more my not being tone. I dont want to lose a ton of weight as much as i want things to be a little tighter. Youre right tho, weightloss itself is more diet based.

You have plenty of time. I would learn how to count macros or go keto (both very effective) and do some high intensity interval training as well as hit the weights. If you're a beginner at weight lifting and don't have a lot of fat on your body, you'll see results pretty fast. Hope this helps Smiley smile

Thanks, it really does help. Im not a beginner to weight training, but its taken so long to recover that i might as well be, so thats a good idea- I need to do more than just cardio because I dont have a whole lot of fat. Also, i didnt know what a macronutrient was, but I looked it up and Im excited to try it.

No problem. Count fat, protein and carbs. There's a million different calculators online that will give you those based on your weight, height, body fat. Plug them into any macro calculator app or fitness pal and just follow that. You'll know exactly how much you're eating and how much you need to eat. Its great.

I lost 15 lbs in 6 months and did a ton of toning. I cut out soda, desserts and coffee creamer. I basically just drank water & ate a lot healthier (ate out less, packed lunch more). I took HIIT classes twice a week, and used the Tone It Up app the other 3 days. Then walked 3+ miles on the weekend.

I am! Well, I have been losing some weight and haven't really needed to do weights or anything like that. I've mostly changed my diet. My younger sister had been trying to lose weight for some time and showed me a plethora of options online. She showed me a custom diet plan and voila.

I would definitely recommend some walking/running in there. I only started seeing real results after incorporating consistent cardio for a bout a month. Hope this helped Smiley smile
