Losing weight to fit in my wedding dress

Kelci, on October 11, 2018 at 9:38 PM Posted in Fitness and Health 0 11
I bought my dress before I had to postpone my wedding from August 2017 to June 2019. I had my second child in September last year. I lost most of the weight but not all of it. I have a hard time losing my “baby gut”. Any suggestions? I want to look and feel my best on my wedding day

    Congratulations 🎈🎊🎉🍾

    Stomach fat is mostly diet.

You said you already lost most of the weight so you know what to do!

What are you doing to lose weight? Exercises like crunches don't really do anything to get rid of the "baby gut". Do you have time to get to a gym? Specifically a kickboxing gym? You burn so many calories and get a full body workout, especially your core. If you can't get too much time out of the house because of the children, take them for walks, use your stairs for lunges (if you have any), do squats while you brush your teeth, plank over your baby... But be careful with that last one! If you have a desk job, get a cycle for under your desk. I have one and just pedal all day long, burning hundreds of calories everyday.

I also find that when I try to lose weight by cutting carbs I give myself a cheat day on the weekend where I allow myself to eat whatever I want. For me, it works almost to restimulate my metabolism.

I’m doing 21 day fix eating plan and workout videos. With both kids I don’t have time to get to a gym.

Thanks for the advice. I’m going to try some of those suggestions

I did something called the shred 10 for 10 days, I replaced 2 emails with a protein shake, took out gluten, caffeine, alcohol, processed foods, dairy (except eggs), and refined sugar. So lots of protein, veggies and fruit. I tried to make it to the gym 1 more time a week. I felt energized with this and super healthy, like my body was cleaning house. It has changed my eating habits and I’m down a whole pant size and have maintained....even when adding these back into my diet. I still make healthier choices, have maintains dmy weight loss, and feel great. Day 5 was tough....but I stuck it through. Hole this helps!

I lost weight from power walking. Drinkig lots of water and cutting out sodas and bread. Lots of veggies and stomach excersizes. There are several excersizes on YouTube to help that "baby gut" shrink.

The first day is hard, day 2-4 are fine, day 5 and 6 can be hard (#mentalbreakdown), then the rest was easy after you get the mind over matter. Keep the exercise going too!! And believe it or not, I had more energy to exercise after work, than I did when eating lunch. Good luck girl. Snack healthy too!

Cardio cardio cardio! And wear a waist sweat band while doing it. Like a nice walk/run outside or on the treadmill. The sweatband will help you sweat and burn those inches in your stomach area. They have them for less than $10 at Walmart. Good luck!

Hi Kelci, I would highly recommend doing low impact cardio specifically lots of power walking and, I know winter is coming, but swimming or any kind of water aerobics would be a great help in getting that heart rate up to burn fat. Excess sweating is a myth and will not help you lose weight. The sweat your body produces is just water weight that is lost and will be put back on once you rehydrate.

Diet is KEY. Drink lots of water (skip the sugary drinks such as soda, fruit juice, lattes, flavored drinks etc.), and avoid foods that are just empty calories and sugar. Eat lots of whole natural foods such as fresh produce, whole grains, nuts etc. High fiber diets will also help to keep you lean and full longer. Focus on the big picture of eating well and exercising at least 4 days a week. Belly fat can be hard to lose and, as most of us know, we cannot spot reduce fat. Hope this helps! Best of luck.

I LOVE the 21 day fix! I have heard switching up your routine can help. Something about your body getting used to the exercises you do. Maybe try switching to the 21 day fix extreme (I haven't done it so no promises there... haha) or mix in a 30 minute run periodically. Cardio is the best medicine for loosing belly fat.
