I started to do a juicing diet to see how much I can loose in a week. I measured my self this morning and I went from 181 to 176.5 ! I am so excited and happy for me! What I did is cut off everything except fruits and veggies. Fruits I used: green apples, pears, pineapple, mixed berries or...

I started to do a juicing diet to see how much I can loose in a week. I measured my self this morning and I went from 181 to 176.5 ! I am so excited and happy for me!

What I did is cut off everything except fruits and veggies.

Fruits I used: green apples, pears, pineapple, mixed berries or individual berries.

Veggies: celery, kale, romaine lettuce, parsley, cucumber, spinach.

Water or coco water!

Added chia seeds.

No sugar!

3x A DAY!

Please don't do this. As (almost) everyone said, this is neither sustainable nor healthy. Your body needs a variety of nutrients to function properly and that includes your metabolism (let alone anything else). As for working out while on such a plan, it's a horrible idea, you will burn yourself out. You need protein to build muscle and the more muscle you have, the more calories you burn. You need fat for a variety of vitamins to be absorbed into your system. Even carbs are not inherently bad, you just need to be mindful of how many you consume and when.

Consult with a trained professional that can give you a plan that is both sustainable and won't starve you.

I really recommend this site https://darebee.com, even if just for the reading aspect. I haven't tried any of their diets, but I have done several of the workouts and kept the nutrition information in mind when eating, without actually dieting and it does work. It won't replace a nutritionist though.

Don't risk your health for a few lbs, it's really not worth it.

@Carla - but what is the point of the experiment? It's just common sense that if you cut out solid foods for every meal you will of course loose weight in the short term but you will also gain it back right away when you stop juicing. Its common sense.

Also I would speak to someone who actually works as a nutritionist or dietitian. I have never heard of a chiropractor who was also a nutritionist. Though I guess its not implausible - I myself would feel more comfortable getting this type of advice from someone who is 100% trained to do this and does it for a living.

Typically chiropractors have a "nutrition" certification which is not actually recognized within the medical community and they cannot practice within a clinical setting.

If they are telling you to buy supplements that is a huge red flag.

You need to add some protein or your body is going to crash. This is not healthy and you may end up getting very very sick.

I've lost 8 lbs in a little over a month just by counting calories with My Fitness Pal. You should try that instead.

Count calories, exercise, eat actual food that fills you up, not fruit which really has very little for you.

Juicing is a fad. It's not nutritionally based. Your body needs protein, some good fat and yes, some carbs.

Weight Watchers is a terrific, well balanced diet that has worked for many people here.

    What the actual fuck.

I just wanted to see if I would lose weight by cutting off my right leg.

Just because you CAN do something- doesn't mean you SHOULD- or that it's remotely close to a good idea.

Of COURSE you're going to lose some weight. It's not always good weight- or the weight you want to lose.

You could lose 5 pounds by taking a shit. 7 if it's a good shit.

This is a horrifically bad idea.

Getting a "diet" plan from a chiropractor who is moonlighting as a nutritionist? so much nope.

how much weight can you safely and effectively lose in a week?

The answer is 1/4 lb to 2 lbs. Depending on how much you have to lose.

weight loss/management and weight gain (yes some people are trying to gain) - is a LONG TERM process- play the long game- 6-12 months- I started my journey to body re-sculpting almost 5 years ago. I'm making headway every year. And Getting mostly the results I want- AND retaining my mental health- a positive relationship with food AND still enjoying my life.
