Lost all motivation for my wedding diet???? I need help.

Katie, on October 13, 2011 at 12:22 PM Posted in Fitness and Health 0 17

I am getting Married in 233 days. I need to lose 20 lbs. My issue is that my MOH is drop dead gorgeous and about a size 2. I have the Man of my dreams, the most beautiful bridal party and an unbelevable dress. I just want to feel beautiful and I don't right now. I have about 7.5 months to lose 20 lbs.

My problem is I have been trying to lose the same 20 lbs for 3 years. I have NO will power. Once I have gien the weightloss 2-3 months of my time and only lost 5 lbs I just give up!

Ineed someone to help keep me motivated. Anyone wannt help hold eachother accountable ?

    Giving up fast food?

    Giving up Pop and junk?

    Limiting your carbs?

Working out at least 5 days a week?

I have not tried weigh watchers..

    I don't eat fast food.

I don't drink soda....and my junk food intake is close to nothing.

Carbs arn't an issue...soduim intake for me is huge.

I was working out 5+ days a week.....

I just don't know if I dont' give it long neough before i give up...but 3 weeks and 8 lbs is a dream for me. I am 5'5 and 150. My DREAM would be to be back down to 130 by my honeymoon. My poor husband to be hates how insecure I can be about my weight. I don't feeel....sexy...and I don't wear bathing suits...and I just so happen to have a group of size 2 ladies as my bridesmaids.

First of all, don't compare yourself to your BM's. Trust me, all eyes will be on you and everyone will think you look great. I'm assuming most of your guests know you and love you at the size you are now and won't be judging you on your wedding.

Secondly, it seems like you are doing everything right in terms of eating and exercising. My advice would be to go to a doctor and see if there are any problems with your hormones. Also, don't count out stress as one of the issues. People that have a harder time dealing with stress have more difficulty losing weight.

Keep up the exercise and healthy eating. And decrease or quit your alcohol intake. You can do it!

Also, see https://www.weddingwire.com/wedding-forums/who-wants-to-keep-track-of-their-weightloss-with-me/5ce0c95d21d519fc.html as a bunch of us are trying together.

I have the same issue, but I never lost anything in the end Smiley sad I went for a whole year and nothing happened. I recently discovered that I was doing my protein intake wrong, not getting enough sucrose and protein BEFORE exercising. I knew to have some after, but not before. And once you can build up on muscle, you then lose the weight, so yes it would be more than 3 months, but that's why my year long stint didn't work hah. So now I'm cracking down and hoping I can at least lose a little in 2 months before my DW (bikinis... oi!)

I'm going to go see a friend who is becoming a personal trainer (for free since it's his start, woop!) I can totally let you know if i learn any other tips or anything.

I have the same problem. It's awful!

I just set a normal goal for myself: 2 years to lose 10 solid lbs.

FH is running with me in this couch-to-5k thing we found online that trains you to run a 5k really slowly.

You just need to do some subtle changes. If you feel like you're depriving yourself, you will never make it long term. Pick one thing to cut out (maybe a regular snack), and do everything else the same. Over a long period of time, it will add up to your goal.

I am down 15 lbs and have about 20 more lbs to go before the big day (which we share!). I was taking an energy supplement/ fat burner called OxyElite to kickstart the weight loss, I don't need it as much now and the weight is still coming off. Prior to taking the supplement I sounded a lot like you right down to the high sodium part and I hadn't changed (gain/loss) weight in over a year. It really gave me the push to feel like I can lose weight. Sorry for sounding like an informercial I just love this stuff, I'm down 15lbs and I'm actually pretty psyched to be getting back into shape. Now I literally am searching for ways to exercise. FH and I hit spin class 3x a week, treadmill running once a week, dog walks in the morning, after dinner walks and we work out on Sunday morning with my sis and her husband. I love being "active"!

But yeah, the energy supplement kick started my weight loss.

If you don't already, would recommend using an actual workout plan. Too often we do the same routine day in day out; but once your body becomes accustomed to the same ol same ol and 30 minutes on a treadmill no longer represents a challenge, you stop losing weight. I've been doing Jamie Eason's Live Fit. It's a 12 week program that includes strength and cardio training. It's completely free, goes day by day, and also includes a diet plan that is really easy to follow. It seems daunting and a lot of girls hate lifting ("Whaa, it'll make me bulky) and the food program is a lot to eat but unlike a lot of plans isn't, "make garlic chicken for lunch and oh yeah, we're eating porkchops tonight, buy these 5 other ingredients." It focuses a lot on mixing up exercises every 2 weeks to promote muscle confusion, so you'll spend a lot of time being sore but you'll see continued results rather than hitting plateaus. Oh yeah, and don't be turned off by the fact it is at "bodybuilding.com," just like Sami, I hate to sound like an infomercial, but I swear this program is awesome!

Don't think about "Diets" think about getting healthy!!!! It doesn't take a lot to loose weight! I was 170lbs and I tried diets, dietary supplements, going to the gym... Nothing worked until I changed my way of thinking and thought about getting healthy and making better choices and having someone with you like the FH to be your support! I stopped eating junk food, I love pizza and i still eat it once in a while but what i do is i scrape the toppings off my pizza with a fork and I don't eat the crust or any of the bread, drinking more water and walking around my neighborhood at night after dinner for 30 mins, in 6 months I lost 30lbs and it has been a year and I'm currently 136lbs. Anyone can do it, u just have to have will power and just think about being healthy! You can do it, Good Luck!

I need to lose 30 lbs and have set a goal of 1 or 2 pounds a week to lose but I HATE TO EXERCISE so, I bought a Wii fit with the Sports disk It's a great workout tool since I can do it at home and at anytime I want. With it I am doing yoga, boxing, tennis, bowling, step aerobics and, my favorite, hula hoop (great way to shrink the waistline which is my main problem).

Also, drink lots and lots of water. You may notice a one or two pound weight gain the first week if your body is not used to you drinking lots of water, but after that it will make a big difference. Fiber is important and I love the Fiber One honey clusters cereal with skim milk. That's helped me keep the hungries at bay.

Hang in there - YOU CAN DO IT!!!! If you need a weight loss buddy PM me and we can keep each other motivated.

I want to lose 10lbd before my wedding (which is a week before yours) and I started running this morning. I just went out, 20 minutes, jogging and walking when I got tired. I took water with me.

I want to tone tone tone and get rid of the flabby arms and flabby gut! And my motivation is each time I look in the mirror, I see how my arms used to look and how they look now.

I'm going to run for 20 minutes 5 days a week.

Cardio is the way to burn fat. The BEST way. Don't let the fads fool you. It's cardio. You need to burn it off.

I'm using this app on my iphone called lose it, where you log the food you eat everyday and it tells you how many calories you can have per day. And i've been running. Lucky you you only have 20 pounds to lose, I have 60 more to go (baby weight Smiley sad)

    My arsenal includes:

-"The New Rules of Lifting For Women"

-Diet that focuses on overall intake and moderation. Protein is my biggest component to help support the exercise.

    -My Fitbit!

I still have a ways to go myself. I have decided to look at it as a commitment to being health so that my FH and I can live a long life together rather and looking great for 4 hours in a dress. Believe in yourself, in all that you are, and in all that you can become.
