So, I’ve been putting off coming to the forum with this issue. I’m really not looking for criticism with all that I’ve already been through in losing and unsuccessfully looking for my ring. What I could use is advice for places to look, or advice on how you got through it if something similar...
So, I’ve been putting off coming to the forum with this issue. I’m really not looking for criticism with all that I’ve already been through in losing and unsuccessfully looking for my ring.

What I could use is advice for places to look, or advice on how you got through it if something similar happened to you. Currently becoming a mess whenever it pops into my mind, so any meditation or healing practices would help.

Thanks in advance Smiley heart

I lost my engagement ring before and found it a few weeks later stuck between my mattress and the bed frame. Is the ring insured? I truly hope you find it.

It wasn't my engagement ring, but I had another ring come off inside a pair of gloves I was wearing once

That is so awful for you! I know you said you checked all through the hot tub - did you check the filters, too? My aunt once lost her ring in the pool and it ended up in the automatic pool filter.

Pockets, washing machine, between the seat & door of your car (I've lost rings there)...good luck and I hope you are able to find it!!

As an Uber driver, it can be really difficult to make contact with people long after the fact. Rings are small and they may have done a quick check and not found it but next week when cleaning it out, find it. Make sure they have your direct number in case it shows up.

Take it off and put it on the sink that it may have gone down the drain? Do you have insurance on it? If so, reach out and see what they can do to help.

Do you wear gloves for anything while wearing your ring? A lady at my work lost her ring and found it in a pair of gloves she had on while cleaning her yard.

Check your purse and pants pockets. You may have put it in a pocket so that you wouldn’t lose it.

So sorry to hear you lost your ring. I have lost rings and jewelery before and it’s the worst. I hope you find it/ or at able to get it refunded by insurance. In the meantime might I suggest this mindfulness meditation by tich nhat Hahn ? https://m.youtube.com/watch?t=564s&v=1viNYM7WPAg

This sounds really silly, but when I can't find something, it's been my phone or my keys, never jewelry, I've stopped looking and asked out loud for the gnomes to give it back, please. I acknowlege that it's pretty and sparkly but it's far too big for them and offer them something smaller more usable to them. (a bottle cap, cork, or even a coin) I go do something else and come back about 5-10 minutes later and can find what I was looking for.

I'm not being flippant or trying to make you feel bad. I promise. I do hope you have a good outcome to your dilemma. *hugs*

    Hello Girl,

I guess it happens a lot, I lost my Fiancee ring few months ago, It was too big for his finger and he dropped at a restaurant I put it on my purse and it simply disappeared. I cried a lot, and it wasn't insured.

After month looking for I just realized that it was gone and I had to suck it up. I just bought him a new ring. Nothing that I could do.

How long it have been missing? sometimes we save in a place that we think is very safe and dont remember.

Give some time and then start looking again, go back ur steps and places.

    Good luck to you.

I feel so bad for you, years ago I lost a ring in the ocean after a seagull pooped on my leg & I ran into wipe the poop off. It was the one ring I spent a ton of money on and should have known better, plus it was not insured. I never saw the ring again. I was beside myself. I had to come to terms that it was never coming back and I honestly allowed myself time to be mad/upset & then I had to move on. I am glad that your ring was insured and am hoping that you get full replacement. I know it won't replace the ring you lost. Lot's of luck.

I am so sorry to hear this. :'( FH bought me a promise ring when we were dating, and while drunkenly playing in the snow on new years eve, i lost my promise ring. We stayed up so late searching the grass for it, and after i couldnt sleep i went back outside from 2AM-4AM looking for it. We went to buy a new one from pandora, and since the ring i had lost was always a little too big, i asked for a smaller size this time. I then found out that Pandora only goes down to a 4.5 ring size. I ended up custom ordering a different ring from etsy. I had cried so hard over that ring because he picked out the exact one i wanted without me telling him, and it was like a promise to be engaged, and i had broke that promise by losing it.

I had to tell myself that it was just a piece of jewelry, and that the significance still stood. If you know someone with a metal detector, then that should help big time. I wish i had one when i lost my promise ring in the snow.

My engagement ring now was bought in a size 7, and FH specifically asked "Can you resize this to a 4?" knowing that i had lost the promise ring and that this one NEEDED to fit. They assured him yes, he bought it, got a ring guard (to have it fit at least for when he proposed), he proposed and we went to get it resized. They told us they could not resize it to my size (3.5) or even to a 4. the lowest they could TRY and go was a 5. Oh my gosh i don't even want to finish this story, I STILL don't have a ring that fits PERFECT, and i am terrified to lose it.

I am so sorry that it got lost. I hope that you find it. In the meantime, to get by, try to realize its a piece of jewelry and that the promise and the meaning behind it is still there.

    Much love Smiley heart
