Louboutins?

Maizie D., on December 6, 2016 at 12:47 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 33

Has anyone worn Louboutins for their weddings? I've heard mixed reviews about comfort. I'm trying them on this weekend and I wanted to know what to expect. If you wore them, did you keep them on the whole time?

I know they were popular a few years ago, but expensive ($300-plus) shoes seem to have faded out of fashion in the last few years.

ETA: I don't see how they'd be any more or less comfortable than regular heels, so I think if you're uncomfortable in heels for long periods, a designer label isn't going to change that.

Comfort is my first priority. Trying them on for a few minutes is a lot different than wearing them for 8+ hours on your wedding day

Depending on which ones you purchase, prepare for your feet to die. I had the So Kate heels and could barely walk after an hour and I am an avid heel wearer.

I'd prioritize other things. Buying shoes because they're "status symbols' seems pointless to me.

I have heard they are one of the most uncomfortable designer shoe you can buy.

I still want a pair. But I wouldn't want to commit to wearing to them for 6 hours.

(being said I had uncomfortable shoes- I wore them for 2 hours in the morning- and 6 hours at night- never took them off) but my feet were a little tender that night.

I think its pointless to spend that kind of money on heels- but comfort would be my top priority the last thing i want is to be miserable because my feet hurt on my wedding day.

It depends on the the style. So Kate's are notoriously uncomfortable but I've found Pigalles to be pretty comfortable. I just purchased the Follies Strass and they are the most comfortable heels I own.

Try going into the store or a department store and asking what the most comfortable style is.

Hi Maizie, welcome to WW! Make sure to upload a picture for your avatar (instead of the default icons) so that we can get to know you and tell you apart from all the other posters.

My friends who wear Louboutins swear they are really comfortable - but they are also people who wear heels frequently, and I doubt they'd complain about their Loubs Smiley smile

Personally I would not spend that kind of money on shoes that are going to be in a few getting ready pictures and then seen maybe a few times since they will be hidden under my dress the whole night. I ended up getting some cute sparkly kitten heels off Etsy that do not kill my feet. Comfort (but still cute) was my #1 for finding shoes.

Depends on your foot honestly , I own one pair and barely wear them . They hurt lol, but I'm plus size , size 16 and I will say if they weren't so narrow they might be more comfortable . You really need to try them on and see for yourself .

Oh, one more thing, if the shoe is too narrow you can always get them stretched a bit to make them more comfortable. The store in NYC will do it for you.

I honestly don't understand the point of super expensive shoes for your wedding day, especially just for the designer label. People are hardly ever going to see your shoes when you're wearing a floor-length gown, so I'd rather invest the money in something they will see.

I love Louboutins, but they are so narrow. And yes, they are extremely uncomfortable. Don't forget that their red bottom needs to be broken in (i.e.) scratched up prior to the wedding so you don't slip. If you want to go with a luxury shoe, I would go with a Jimmy Choo, which will be more comfortable and true to size.

@alyssachu I also have a really slim foot, and actually got lucky with a pair of Badgley Mischka's. Just make sure to buy one with an ankle strap for extra security lol!

I have been dying for a pair of Pigalles, I found them to be most comfortable of the ones I've tried on. I looked into Louboutin wedding shoes, but I decided if I was going to buy $700 shoes they'd be the classic black so I can wear them for more than just the wedding.

I purchased my pair, but not because of their name, but i truly fell in love with them. They are a gorgeus color.

Idk about comfort yet, i am only wearing them at home now to break them in. I still need to break them in outside so I won't slip.

I second Alyssachu Stuart Weitzman's are very comfy!

I am also getting a pair of black stuarts to have in my closet.

If that's what you want to do...go for it! Walk around in them & keep them on for a few hours. Definitely bring a pair of comfortable shoes just incase!

I personally want to be comfy but have some height so I got blue kitten length heels

I bought a pair of badgley mischkas to try to distract myself from Loubs or jimmy choo. It hasn't worked so far, I check back on them every so often

I read an interview a while back about how more expensive shoes have a better shape and are more suited to standing in for extended periods. But I guess if I sold $700+ shoes I'd tell people that too
