Love Lock Ceremony

greenleaf, on May 6, 2017 at 2:41 PM Posted in Do It Yourself 1 10

Hi Ladies!

We are set on having a love lock ceremony for our September wedding. We fell in love with Paris and the love lock bridge was so romantic. Anyone do this ceremony? We plan on buying a small garden gate and vintage custom lock. Does anyone have scripts or quotes you used for your wedding? Pictures are welcome! Thanks!!

I have two versions of the Love Lock ceremony but I only share them with my wedding couples. Ask your officiant to help you find the right one for you. Best wishes!

This would be cute to do for your guestbook! Can't help with your ceremony though, sorry!

I've been to Paris (as well as other parts of France and Germany) and I saw a lot of those locks on bridges! I think that is a really cute idea! Ask your officiant if he/she has done this before

Nice, Rev. Michael. Very helpful, indeed (kind of like, "I know a secret!").

For what it's worth, I have some amazing floral tips for those needing and asking for advice, but I'm only sharing them with my paying customers...not you guys.

    Best Wishes!

PS -- Celia, where are you?

I recently officiated a wedding when they put a love lock on a wrought iron gate at the end of the ceremony. Unfortunately, they did not tell me ahead of time or I could have included a relevant reading.

Check out Richard Bach's "The Bridge Across Forever."

Also, Celia has a lot of readings on her Pinterest page.

Thanks everyone. My cousin is a pastor so he will be officiating, but I know he has never done the ceremony. I just wanted examples of what it is like but it sounds like I have to create my own. Thanks @Nancy T that is helpful ?? @knwilson12 that's what we plan on doing! Thanks.

I have done Love lock ceremonies for about 3 years- they are unique and special to each couple for different reasons. I encourage you to think about the significance to you and what it means to you for your ceremony. Then you will have a foundation of the meaning and can write it out to explain to the guests and your officiant should be able to incorporate the rest.
