Low back dress, large chest. Am i doomed?

Anna, on November 6, 2020 at 7:42 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 2 13

I am one of four bridesmaids in a COVID-delayed wedding. The dresses were purchased back in January. I need to figure out how to make mine work, specifically the bust. The dress has no boning and its back is a low V. I am a 38G and can’t go unsupported.

I have spent good money on unworkable support solutions. I had a seamstress put some bra cups in...they did next to nothing. The adhesive "bra" I bought feels like it wouldn’t hold for 30 minutes, much less several hours. I have considered the pricey “Misses Kisses” product, but I need support, not super low plunge. I'm leery about the Kardashian "taping the boobs" thing.

Most recently I bought a low back corset-style bra. The support is pretty good, and I think I could wear it for several hours, but...the back hooks poke out.

Smiley angry Not the look I'm going for!

Yes, I know I should have thought about this when the dresses were chosen, but I was told that bra cups could be sewn in, and I was somehow under the impression that the dress had boning. I should have asked more questions, I guess.

Has anyone dealt with this successfully? Any advice? Please share! TIA

Ask for boning and fit the dress so they are snug. It helped my E cups with no bra.

I've been recommended to tape down the bust

Do you know if there is a bustier that would work with the dress?

You could probably have boning put it but that would be expensive. I'd say boob tape would probably work. Also if the adhesive bra looks okay and gives you support you should wear it for a day around the house or our running errands to test it. I have one and I'll be wearing it for my wedding and it stays on a full day.

It's called nu bra. It's just a cheap one I got on amazon but it works perfectly. I will say that I don't have very large breasts so that would be the only reason that boob tape might be better. But as far as the adhesive being able to stick on an adhesive bra I've worn mine out dancing and had no problems.

NuBra didn’t stick long on my chest. I wasn’t even dancing. I keep trying stick on bras and tapes. So far nothing stayed on longer than 2 hour-ish, then it starts to peel off from one side 😖 I only haven’t tried the tapes from Kadarshian. I mean, they have large breast too, so that might be it.

Oh geez, that's no good. The only thing I can think of would be to use a body brush or something to exfoliate in the shower before you put it on to help it stick, but I get that everyone is different so adhesives probably aren't for everyone. I saw neubootape.com that seems to have a lot of different sized and shaped women who use and post reviews on the site. It also shows a lot of different taping "methods" that I think might be helpful to check out.

Good luck ladies, I hope you find something that will work for you!

That's my fear too. I experimented with only one adhesive bra and after about 15 minutes I was convinced that there was no way it would make it through an entire evening.

I have ordered three other low back bustiers, all of which have boning for support. I'll return the ones I don't use. I'm not sure any will work with the back of the dress, but I won't know for sure until I try.
