Hi all, I’m curious to see where everyone’s budgets are with the same specifications as ours. I have no idea what to expect expense wise and would like feedback. Looking at 100 max guests(trying to keep it relatively small) in Tennessee. With a barn venue for ceremony and reception. Decorations I can handle myself but i don’t know normal costs for photographers, hair and makeup, catering. Those types of things. So what was your budget like without dress and rings.

So far it’s been incredibly informative. It’s a destination wedding for us so planning without being in the state is going to make for an interesting scenario

Honestly I’d look at having it in a surrounding state (I liked venues in GA) or in Gatlinburg. Most venues in TN are so expensive. I tried to have a wedding on a budget here and it was NOT gonna happen.
There are so many hidden fees at each location. Like some were great priced and everything then you had to spend a min of $50 pp on food and $50 pp on alcohol. It got so frustrating that I said screw it and I’m having a DW in Hawaii for less than $3000 for everything (photography, videography, luau for guest..I mean everything!!!)
Be prepared for the wedding to be at least $10k... for us it was gonna be about $20k+

I have no advice on DW, but good luck! I’ve seen a lot of posts on them and they do seem interesting.

Tennessee for us is a DW. We travel the country for work so Tennessee is like the middle of where all our family is coming from

I get married in 3 days in Gatlinburg tennessee at a barn venue called 4 points farm. We went untraditional in food and dessert and it was pretty cheap. Our biggest expense was covering the lodging for wedding party which was our choice. If you take the lodging out we came in at about 11k for everything including apparel.

We are having about 70 guests. The wedding is outdoors in a beautiful city park $200/4hrs. The reception is at the hotel where my fiance works. Normally they rent it for $1000, but we are getting it for FREE. My FSIL is our photographer and offered her services for FREE, but we are tipping her $500. Officiant is a family friend who offered for FREE, so we are tipping her $100. Outdoor chair rental is $200. Food, wedding cake, cup cakes decorations are all being done by our family. We did purchase gifts and favors for the wedding as a thanks to everything our family is doing for us $423. Our total budget without rings and dress is $4096.

Everywhere I looked was very cheap in Hawaii. I think people over exaggerate how expensive it is.
If you are gonna come here then I would definitely go to Gatlinburg. I think winter is the most beautiful. There are many mountain lodges and places to get married out there and it is much cheaper than middle TN. I did months of research on weddings out here. Gatlinburg is by far the best.

Gatlinburg was my first choice , but after so many family problems that’s why we decided for a DW.
I have a whole binder of info on weddings in gatlinburg and what what we would’ve done. I could send you some info if you’d like.

I would love that! We plan on buying property in Tennessee in the future because we love the area. But no matter where we choose it will be a DW. FH family is from SC, NJ, TX. Mine will be coming from NV, FL, and TX so it’s a good medium.

Yeah absolutely. You can message me if youd like girl!! Smiley smile and we are doing a taco bar and fajita bar and for dessert a donut bar. We will have all the fixings for tacos and fajitas along with rice and beans. And then the donuts we have plain donuts with 3 different frostings : vanilla chocolate and caramel, 9 toppings (assorted candies and cookies and cookie dough) and 3 sauces : chocolate espresso, peanut butter and marshmallow.

Omaha, Nebraska. It works well since it's also a central location for family and friends.

Tomorrow will officially be 1 year before we get married!

One of my bridesmaids is doing my makeup, she knows my style. A cousin is taking the pictures. Making our invitations and save the dates. Possibly an aunt making our cake. Decorations making ourselves.

Hey! We are getting married in Florida in a barn venue for both ceremony and reception with 100 guest max also. We are looking at around $12,000 with everything except dress and rings. That’s food, photography, videography, cake, flowers, decorations, the venue, bartender, Dj, tables, chairs, linens, china and affiant.

We had a very small budget as well, 12k for everything. One piece of advice I got from my boss was don't spend an outrageous amount of money on the food, just make sure its good so people have something satisfying to eat. This really stuck with me and I went with it! We are doing BBQ buffet. My dads coworkers are amazing cooks and are actually making the food for us so we're saving a lot there. We also have a friend doing desserts, you can save a lot here to by not doing a big cake if you don't want to. I did a lot of DIY for the big day and really shipped around for the best deals. Hope this helps!
