Low-key Bachelorette Party Ideas?

ChrisK126, on April 20, 2015 at 9:08 PM Posted in Community Conversations 0 21

My MOH and bridesmaids have asked what I want to do for a bachelorette party... I don't know exactly what I want, BUT I do know that I do not want a stripper. Nor do I want to be out drinking all night (my body cannot handle that sorta thing anymore). And I don't really like the idea of a weekend getaway...

So I am in search of fun ideas that don't require an excessive amount of drinking, or a ton of travel. I am about an hour away from Philadelphia, if that helps in making suggestions... thanks!

How about a comedy show? There are some good ones in Philly or in Atlantic City. Not sure which direction your hour drive to Philly is. Maybe one of the casinos could be fun if you like them. A friend of mine got married a few months ago and she had a dinner at a drag show in Philly for hers.

Comedy show? Vineyard? Spa day? One of those paint & sip parties?

Ooh a vineyard would be fun too. I know there are some around here but I haven't been to one yet. I will investigate. Thanks!

I agree with the other ladies about a spa day or comedy show. Just be aware that a comedy show could turn into a night of drinking. Most comedy clubs have a two drink minimum.

    A wine and canvas

Old school slumber party with Disney movies or chick flicks

    Mud run/Color Run/Slide the City/Inflatable Run...any of those fun 5K "runs"

My girls took us to Painting with a Twist. It is an art studio where you take a 2 hour class to paint the picture highlighted. Since we were private party, I got to pick it. It ran about $35 a person but was so much fun. We all want to go back and do it again.

Those painting parties are a lot of fun. The ones in my area are BYOB so we always bring wine and snacks.

I'd go with with wine tasting at a vineyard. Or maybe a brewery tour?

Cosmic bowling. Dave and Busters (I think there is one in Philly?). Not sure which way you are from Philly but in Chester County there is a place that rents tubes and you can tube down the Brandywine River and bring coolers and stuff. That that could be a fun day if you like the water. Day trip to the beach?

I agree with the comedy show those are always fun. Since you are close to Philly what about a dinner cruise they have music for anyone who wants to dance a bit after dinner. http://www.spiritcruises.com/philadelphia

I'm in Dallas and we drove 1 1/2 hours to a casino. I don't think alot.. so not in the bar scene. If that would not of paned out i think we would of gone to a Painting type event. Here in Dallas it's painting with a twist. you can BYOB wine, beer, cheese.. etc..

My choice for the bachelorette is to do a joint bachelor/bachelorette with the couples. I'm not into the stripper scene myself, and I don't want my maids going crazy planning- so couples dinner and drinks sounds good to me!

The Wine tasting & Spa day sound like a lot of fun!

    Some other ideas:

    - Have a private cooking class with all your bridesmaids

    - Arrange a private pole dancing class with your bridesmaids, haha may be too much for some people but I bet it's a lot of fun with girls you feel comfortable with!

We are going to a friend's cottage about 1 hr outside the city. Going to just hang out and do a BBQ and bonfire. Also here we have wine tours. You go on a bus and hit up 3 different vineyards. Maybe they have something like that near Philly?

Just had mine last weekend and we did a paint night party. it was BYOB but honestly we barely drank and we had the best time! no one had done it before and every picture turned out fantastic. we went to a little local shop instead of the ones that do them in bars so it was just the nine of us (I hear the bar ones are around 40 people). I would do it all over again! highly recommended. and yes, I got to pick the painting!

See a play/musical, comedy show, painting with a twist is fun (not sure if they have one near you), you sign up to do a painting, they teach you step by step, it's so fun and you can bring wine, etc and drink along while you are doing it - can bring food as well), stay in and have movies like magic mike, bridesmaids, etc on and play adults board games. There are a lot of things you could do!

The painting with a twist sounds like a lot of fun!

My party was Saturday. It was just all girls I work with, and I told the organizers I was pretty much up for anything as long as it didn't turn into a shot party. I have too much to get done to waste a day being hung over! We went to a local winery (and discovered the wonder that is a wine slushie), one of my favorite restaurants, and to a local dive bar. Had a great time, kept it under control, and didn't feel shitty the next day.

Perhaps dinner with the girls, then a wine and paint night. Those are big in our area. Flow that with snacks and a night cap.

I don't know if there is a LUSH store near you.. but they offer private party packages for a decent price & you get $30 worth of products after they pamper you & let you try all their stuff!
