Low-key proposal... And loved it

Mine was perfect, even though FH's plan didn't work out the way he wanted. He wanted the grand proposal with all the bells and whistles, but many factors made that not possible. So here's what happened: We were sitting in a hotel room while I was visiting him (LDR). We had just finished our Thai takeout and were watching one of our favorite shows, Bob's Burgers. When we weren't long distance, this was a regular date night in. We laid back and snuggled up and he just asked. No bells, no whistles. The ring wasn't even in yet. But I loved it, we were being "us," and of course I said yes.

My FH and I had been together for right at 6 years when he proposed and it was still a complete surprise! We were sitting at home on New Year's Eve, trying to make plans for the night. He was laying in the floor playing with our son and I asked him what he wanted to do. He said, "I know one thing I want to do....", pulled a ring box out of his pocket and held it open in front of me. I don't think I spoke for at least three minutes. My mouth was just wide open! it was such a great moment and very "us."

My FH took us to a nice restaurant that we both love. We were sitting outside on the patio with live music and I turned to say something to him and he was on one knee! It still makes my heart melt the way he did it. It totally fits both our personalities. After dinner he let me know that all our friends were meeting us at the bars and he had gotten a hotel room for us downtown. He had the whole night planned. It was amazing

    That's sweet!!! Smiley smile

Mine was pretty low key! He proposed to me the same day he picked up the ring. He said he'd wanted to wait & plan something elaborate. We we're visiting our family out of town, and when we were getting ready to get in the car to head home, he was like "hold on, we should take a picture, it's beautiful outside!" (I immediately knew something was up because he wanted to take a picture. I have to harass him to take photos with me). He had his mom "take a picture" and as soon as we were posed and ready, he got down on his knee. His mom recorded everything on video. Smiley smile

We had just bought our house, and were given the keys after closing. We went up to the house to go a look at it before heading out to celebrate. Before we walked in through the front door way he got down on one knee and proposed to me. It was so sweet, especially coming from a guy like my FH who is not about sweet gestures.

Mine was super low key. We worked night shift and feel asleep early watching a movie. We woke up around 2am because that's the time we usually eat lunch at work. I was in the kitchen eating chips and salsa ( hair up, glasses, baggy t shirt) and he came in talking. I was legit stuffing my face next thing I know he's on the kitchen floor asking me to marry him. It was 3am and perfect! We stayed up the rest of the night talking then went to my parents to tell them!

He asked me on the phone after asking my parents blessing which I knew he was going to do. (We love 400 miles apart.) Over this last Memorial Day weekend, when he came to pick my daughter and I up from the RV we were staying in , he got down on one knee and gave me my ring.

Love these! Apparently, FH had been carrying around the ring in his wallet for while, waiting for the right moment. We were at my best friend's birthday party and I had gotten up and gave him a hug and was walking away. He grabbed my hand and when I turned back around he was down on his knee with the ring. He was literally the one and only person that knew it was coming. I thought something was up because he was being extra touchy/ lovey dovey. But our daughter was 2 weeks old so I just thought maybe it was emotions from that. Guess not!

Well he had just got back from doing laundry and gave me a ring to try on... he asked do you like this as a gift? I joked back an answer something along the lines of "I'd love it even more with a question" he then got on one knee and said "I was getting there hold on" and then asked "will you marry me?" And of course I said yes after making sure he wasn't joking

Mother's day. Out for dinner with kids. Said there was something important he wanted to ask. Got up to come closer and threw the ring box at me because the toddler saw a chance and made a break for it.

Toddler ruined the proposal. But it's sure memorable

FH and I were visiting some of his family after Christmas. We had all spent the day inside playing Monopoly and he had royally kicked my ass- and I'm most definitely a sore loser- so I was a little extra sassy towards him when he suggested we go for a little hike and sight see (Virginia-it was in the 60s). I was a little suspicious when he changed his clothes into something nicer than you would for hiking..but I didn't think much of it. Anyway! We went down to the creek with his aunt, uncle and cousin in tow and I went over to take a picture and as I was saying, babe look! I saw him get down on his knee. I walked over in shock and said, uh what the fuck are you doing? And he said will you marry me? And again said what the fuck is happening?

His aunt goes I can't see is that a yes??

I realized that shit, this is real life! And then I said yes!

Loved it. He knew I'm not much for being the center of attention so having a minimal audience was perfect for me.

We went over a friend's house to have some drinks before walking over to a park to watch the NY fireworks. At some point he said he had to go get a slice a pizza because he wasn't feeling well (blood sugar or something), he later admitted he was so nervous he thought he was going to puke.

We were sitting on damp grass in the dark and he just turned to me and pulled the ring out of his pocket. I had to ask him like 3 times if he was kidding lol
