Lowering amount of bridesmaids & groomsmen.

*advice needed for a panicked bride*

Just want to say this! Planning a wedding during this pandemic is the worst and I salute all brides that are going through the same thing as I am.

Our wedding date was Feb 2021 and I postponed to Dec 2021 because I wanted to ensure a smooth and COVID free as possible wedding. Our guest list was at 85, but because of COVID we have lowered our max to 60 guests. Our wedding party consists of 6 bridesmaids & 6 groomsmen. The church we booked only wants 4 on each side at the alter, how do I even tell my wedding party this? Who do I pick to stand and who to put in the crowd? All of our wedding party members are either family or long time friends and I feel like no matter how I tell them it will be upsetting or taken the wrong way. The bridesmaids have even already bought their dresses from Davids Bridal already as well.

HELP.

One thing you could do is still have everyone walk down the aisle, but only have the MOH and best man stand up at the altar with you! You could have everyone else sit in the front row. That way, you can still keep everyone in your wedding party, but you'd also be able to adhere to the church's request.

Totally agree with this, or just have everyone sit.

I would wait it out for a little bit to see if the church changes their mind with protocols come December. Maybe revaluate around Labor Day?

This is exactly what we did for our Covid wedding and it worked out perfectly!

Why do you have to decide this right now? See what December is like. If this is still the rule, have them sit un the first row

Agree with PP's to either have everyone sit in the first row, or just have MOH and BM stand with you. I've seen this at lots of weddings!
