LR & KR: Report Card for Kindergarten

My son is in Kindergarten, he's 6 yo. The past two report cards have been great academically but his classroom behavior is not. They are graded on both. I'm at a loss of whether or not I should punish him. He exceptionally smart and this shows it so it's not like I can punish him for "bad grades"...

I'm at a loss of whether or not I should punish him. He exceptionally smart and this shows it so it's not like I can punish him for "bad grades" but as you see he has a lot of "N"s in the characteristics section. I had a long talk with him about it and he was very teary-eyed and upset about it. I grounded him from his Wii, which he just got a new game for so it's killing him to not be able to play it. I'm just at a loss of what I should do. He's a very hyper boy with a lot of energy, and his teacher does have a lot of patience for him.

Patience, understanding, and working closely with the school will help. It's funny because this Valentine's Day he wanted to give his principal a Valentine's Day card because he hasn't seen him all year and he missed seeing his principal. Also as they get older they do mature a little and realize what is expected of them. You will go through hard days and some much easier all you have to do is make sure that you breathe through the hard and tell him how proud you are of him through the good.

Oh girl! I feel your pain! Brandon, my youngest has AMAZING grades! He is in 1st grade, but intellectually he was tested and I was told he was 2nd semester 2nd grade level. He has a lot of outbursts and can't focus as well. I think he's bored. Our school psychologist got involved and things are much better.!!

But I'm with you on the taking away the wii...it's hard to do, but it's necessary!
