Maid of dishonor

Denise , on January 1, 2018 at 3:18 PM Posted in Family and Relationships 0 2
So, my fiancé discussed who we wanted in our bridal party and I choose my best friend of about 7 years to be my maid of honor, unfortunately my best friend of almost half my life was so disappointed that she showed no excitement at all when I asked her to be a bridesmaid instead, she then didn’t speak to me for a month and when I reached out to her finally I asked her if she was mad that she wasn’t the maid of honor and she said yes, threw a huge fit and basically told me she needed time to speaking to me to heal because she was so hurt. Has this happened to anyone before??

Yes, this happened recently with a friend of mine. She was so mad she wasn't maid of honor that she's not even coming to my wedding. What I learned through the whole thing was this: someone who is your true friend is going to excited for you no matter what. ESPECIALLY if you ask them to be a bridesmaid. Everyone feels jealous sometimes but lashing out at you for choosing someone else is incredibly childish.

Thanks Brooke, I’m sorry to hear about your friend too, bc I know how much it has sucked for me not having my friend involved, but you’re right if she were a true friend she would feel grateful to be involved at all. We still haven’t spoke so I have a feeling she won’t even be a guest at my wedding either but I guess you learn who your true friends are the hard way.
