Hey There -

So I have 4 bridesmades and a maid of honor and I'm really wanting to do something unique and different for their gift when asking them to be a part of my wedding. I am pretty crafty so I'd love something I could do myself. Some of the things I have seen that I like so far is the tank top with the bleach pen and writing Bridesmaid and Maid of Honor on the backs, and I like the robe idea with the writing on the backs as well. I like the locket idea with the "Will you be my bridesmaid?" inside too. Also, I don't have a huge budget so if anyone has any neat ideas that won't cost a ton, please share!! Thanks! Smiley smile

Agreed with Emily. I think the whole bridesmaid proposal thing has gotten way out of hand.

I don't think there is anything wrong with just simply asking your friends to be bridesmaids without a gift, but if you want to make it special, Della's suggestion is really good.

I went to the Coach Store the Saturday after black Friday and SCORED on purses for each of them Smiley smile My 2 sisters are both my maid of honor so I made sure their purses were a little bigger, and I figured I would fill each of the purses with goodies and a day-of kit Smiley smile

My mindset was to try to get something they can use after the wedding, and everybody has such different taste in jewelry. So I thought who doesn't love a Coach purse Smiley winking

I spent about $90ish on each of my 4 girls since they are paying for their dress, hair(nails/makeup (if they want). For how much time they are putting into making my day perfect, I figured it was the least I could do Smiley smile

Taking care of them was one of my splurges

When I asked my ladies to be in my wedding I gave them wine glasses with their name on them and bridesmaid or maid of honor on the bottom, mini bottle of wine or sparkling water (for the non-drinkers), a ring pop (because I popped the question to them), and a personal thank you note. I gave them these items at our engagement cookout.

At rehearsal gather I will be giving each lady a gift bag that will include: wooden clothes hanger with their name, BM or MOH and wedding date on it, handkerchief the says "no ugly crying", Bath and Body Works hand soap, earrings and my MOH will get a Bath and Body Works 3 wick candle (the BM will not get the candle).

    By the way I have 1 Matron-of-honor, 1 Maid-of-Honor and 7 Bridesmaids.

If you shop it right, you can definitely give them something that's homemade and looks like a lot of effort was put into it. I bought kraft colored photo boxes at Hobby Lobby (on sale-but everything is on sale at that place) and modge podge decorated them for each girl. On the inside lid of the box it said, "Here's to a year of..." and on the inside I had:

-a shirt that said bridesmaid and their name (a tag attached said: "Matching outfits")

-a mini bottle of wine (tag said: "teary-eyed toasts")

-a picture frame with a picture of me and the bridesmaid (tag said: Making new memories)

Altogether it cost $10/girl. They loved them. I know they wear their shirts to work out and stuff. I won't be getting them anything that says "bridesmaid" for their thank you gift but it was cheap enough that it was worth it.
