Maid of Honor

Betty, on October 19, 2020 at 9:04 PM Posted in Planning 0 8

Hey everyone! Happy monday!. How did you decide who will be your maid of honor? So undecided on whether I should go with my sister or two of my closest friends. Thank you

I went with the person who I turn to first to talk about wedding stuff, whos opinion I ask first and who genuinely seems excited about my wedding. I originally wasn't going have anybody in the wedding other then us and my son, but plans changed lol. My moh was helping me plan the wedding and went dress shopping with me and all of that before I even decided I was having one. Seemed like a no brainer for me.

Pick the person you confide in about everything and who is nonjudgemental and supportive of you and your relationship. Do not pick anyone out of obligation.

I chose my only sister and my bestfriend to be my MOH. My husband chose his 2 bestfriends as his best men!

I chose to go with my mom. I knew I wanted her to stand next to me as my matron of honor before I was even with my fiance. My mom and I are very close. And she is the only one in my life besides my fiance that will always be there for me, who cares the most about me, and who I know I can really count on. My mom will tell me the truth no sugar coating which I need, she won't try to steal my moment, she won't bring drama to my wedding. She will do everything to make sure it's a wonderful experience for me. Once I became an adult we have grown closer as best friends. I couldn't imagine my wedding without her next to me.

Also I don't know how many sisters you have or what your relationship with her is like. But my fiance was in the same dilemma, he couldn't decide on his brother or his best friend as his best man. He asked me what my thoughts were, I told him that he only has one brother and he has a good relationship with him, so it wouldn't be right not to have him as a best man. I told him it might hurt his feelings if you choose a friend over your only brother. I told him if your best friend is a really good friend then he will totally understand why you asked your brother to be the best man.

I didnt pick a maid of honor! My three best friends/bridesmaids are assuming MOH duties as a team and it seems to be working out really well!. I did the official "proposals" last week and they basically have already finished planning the bachelorette... three heads are definitely more efficient than one.

I’ve had the same best friend since I was six, so it was an easy choice for me.
Pick the person you most want by your side on that day. Being related doesn’t matter as much as the relationship itself. Who are you closest to?
