Mailing invitations

Ours is end of October and just mailed out today. With mail delays and people trying to recover and plan from the mess last year, this is a good advice!

I agree, we mailed some July 10 for our October wedding & some people have still not received them 🤦🏾‍♀️

I'm not sure about everyone we invited, but some of ours actually got theirs 2 days after we sent them. I guess it depends on where you are and where they're going?

We sent our invitations 8 weeks in advance. There’s now 30 days until our wedding. Friends who live in the next state got theirs 4 days after we sent them, meanwhile family who live 5 miles away still haven’t received theirs. It’s a disaster l!

This is exactly why we mailed ours the last week of July for our October wedding! Seems to be good on our end as most received them right away and we actually received several RSVPs back the same week!

We mailed ours out way sooner than normal. It worked out well for us

Yep. Same situation for us!! And still waiting on so many RSVPs...we gave the option to RSVP online but of course everyone chose to send back the card LOL

We mailed ours during the last week of July for our December wedding. The postal service is hit or miss and all of oue guests are flying in from all over the world. RSVP date is in November though.

Wow, five weeks is a long time for a domestic letter! We sent invites in April for our June wedding. Everyone got them within the week, and people who lived in our state got them the next day or day after. I've experienced some shipping delays with packages but letters seem to be pretty standard and arrive within a few days. I do imagine the shipping delays are pretty regional, with some areas affected much worse than others.

I will say that I have heard dropping your invites off at the post office expedites things. For our wedding invites, I was sure to go to the post office and hand them off to an employee first thing in the morning, vs leaving them in our mailbox with the flag up. I don't know how true this is but I figured it couldn't hurt.

We also did online RSVP only so delays on the return envelopes were a non-issue for us. Thanks for the heads up! We are sending out our thank yous soon so will see how long they take to get where they are going.
