Majestic Elegance, or Majestic Colonial in Punta Cana for honeymoon?

Private User, on March 10, 2015 at 1:46 PM Posted in Honeymoon 0 15

Hey everyone,

We are looking to book our honeymoon and found some great rates for the Majestic Colonial in Punta Cana. Have any of you ever been there? It got different reviews on trip advisor, some say food is good, some say bad... I would love some input. We are looking for somewhere that has a secluded area if we want privacy and quiet, but we also want it all inclusive. If you wouldn't suggest DR, where would you suggest for an AWESOME relaxing honeymoon that doesn't cost a fortune?

Thanks!

Kaitlynn

    Majestic Elegance!!!

They are actually the same resort.. colonial is on the left and elegance is on the right... thing is the colonial side is "family" while the elegance side is a bit more fancy and adults only. Spend the extra and go elegance.. We stayed there three years ago and plan to go back there in a year or two!!! Such an amazing vacation!!!!

Did you see the rooms that have the private jacuzzi outside? We were going to get one of those rooms which was why were were choosing colonial originally.

I've been to the elegance twice and it was amazing!! It's more fancier than the colonial and more expensive but I think it's worth it. Either way, the resort is amazing and the food is delicious. You'll have a great time!

We got the honeymoon package and Elegance club and we were on the top floor with two patios and two jacuzzis. One was outside and the balcony had two chairs for tanning. It was awesome!!

If you get the elegance club, they give you a butler and he set this up for us Smiley smile

Wow!!! That looks so nice. I think the room my travel agent got us a quote for was the Colonial club majestic suite, ocean front with the two jacuzzi's. I guess I am trying to figure out the difference between elegance and colonial because it sounds like you had the same kind of room we are thinking about getting! It says with colonial club that it's 18+, and that there are special pools, bars, rooms, ect that are separated away so there aren't any kids.

Ya elegance club is adults only and has a seperate area on the beach. Honestly I'm not really sure of the difference lol. I've never been to the colonial side but from pictures I saw online, elegance was nicer. That's the only reason we picked it over colonial.

YAY! Thank you. Smiley smile I feel much better after talking to you. My fiance wanted to go somewhere very secluded, like the overwater bungalows you see in tahiti... but I told him that wasn't happening unless we forked out 10,000$ for the honeymoon. LOL. So, I think he will be satisfied with this being secluded, and I can say I heard it from a real person.

    Thanks again!

We spent $3200 for 9 days - flight, hotel, all inclusive and the elegance club. We looked into Tahiti but $10,000 is wayyy too expensive and that was for half time time lol. Private Message me if you want more details and pics. I took a lot lol

Kaitlynn, congratulations on your upcoming wedding. Majestic Colonial is a family resort on a very nice beach, however they do have an adult only section. Majestic Elegance also has an adult only section. Both resorts do get mixed reviews. If you are looking for something a little more private, I would recommend an Adult Only Resort, depending on your budget.

Feel free to visit my storefront and contact me anytime to help you plan an amazing honeymoon within your budget, at no extra cost.

I stayed at Majestic Colonial. It was more family friendly. For a honeymoon, I would go with Majestic Elegance between those two. But if you're looking for something a little more romantic/isolated in PC, I would suggest Zoetry, Excellence, or Sanctuary. All have excellent reviews. The Iberostar Grand Bavaro is also supposed to be amazing and tends to honeymooners all the time. Not sure what your budget is, though.

Hello Kaitlynn from Kelly, owner of Travel by Kelly. A Big Congrats on your engagement. Your honeymoon is so so special and I know it can be hard to make the decision. My favorite of the 2 is the majestic Elegance to be honest, but they are both great. I've traveled extensively throughout the Caribbean and Mexico and I'm always happy to share my first hand knowledge of the resorts and the destination. There is never an extra fee to use my services and it would be my pleasure to to help, give advise and make suggestions and of course find the absolute lowest prices for your honeymoon. I always check the online booking sites as well. I feel it's important to take that extra step and reach out to the key personnel at the resort and make sure they know my clients are coming and that they are on their honeymoon to assure any extra perks and possible upgrades. Feel free to reach out to me with any questions and check out my store front here on wedding wire, I'm always thrilled to help in anyway, it's my pleasure.

Have fun with all your planning.

    Love more.....Laugh more......Travel more..... Kelly
