Major wedding dress doubts

Once again, I'm having major doubts about my wedding dress I didn't go shopping enough. I bought the 3rd one at the first store I went to and rushed to 2 stores after that weekend to "make sure" and went back and bought it. This was like 8 months ago. I'm getting married in 3 months and again,...

Once again, I'm having major doubts about my wedding dress Smiley sad

I didn't go shopping enough. I bought the 3rd one at the first store I went to and rushed to 2 stores after that weekend to "make sure" and went back and bought it. This was like 8 months ago. I'm getting married in 3 months and again, I'm having major doubts and wondering if I bought it too soon. I know some brides have done this before and have ended up buying another. Was it difficult to sell? I know there are several sites like oncewed.com/recylcedbride.com, any of them better than another? Mine hasn't even been altered yet...

Marlene...I'm so glad to see your last post!!! Smiley smile Are you wearing a veil? I had the very same feelings about my gown....It just didn't feel 'weddingish' to me and I didn't really feel like a bride...but once I added that veil...that's what did it for me.

@Cydney I haven't bought my veil or accessoires yet. I just bought it so early, haven't had it altered, tried not to look at others and never got that "wow" reaction I wanted from my mom. Then this past weekend, I tried on a few wedding dresses for a video series a local salon and wedding magazine is filming about my wedding (you can find it on my blog here: http://stylesizzle.com/bridal/veil-aisle-desert-style-glamorous-arizona-wedding) and major doubts ensued. Even though the shopping was staged for the episode, I saw the look I wanted on my mom's face and I did try on a dress I absolutely loved. Looong story short, it's been a super confusing weekend. I'm so GLAD to hear other brides talk about how this is normal. I'm pretty sure my friends think I've lost my mind at this point. I'm glad I tried it on again as everyone suggested as no matter what ends up happening, it's still beautiful. Maybe I need to get the accessories and veil and never look at other dresses again!

Marlene...I think if you add a veil and accessories you'll love your dress even more. I went back to my boutique and tried my gown on again with a veil and felt much more like a bride. It was surprising b/c I never thought in a million years I would have worn a veil on my wedding day.

Wicked cool about the show you're doing! That must be a lot of fun! Smiley smile Was it the first dress in the video (the poofy one) that started changing your mind? Do you have a picture of YOUR dress? I'd love to compare the two Smiley smile You're beautiful in general so no matter what you choose you'll look gorgeous and you're in a long white dress...that screams bride no matter what! Smiley smile

Yeah, I almost didn't want to do a veil and then thought, when else will I be able to? I haven't bought one yet but I'm thinking perhaps a cathedral length will add that extra "drama" my mom is looking for. By the way, I took a few photos this weekend and showed my mom and she said it was elegant and beautiful Smiley smile

Thanks, yes the video series is a lot of fun but a lot of work! They are filming 24 episodes surrounding my wedding, wedding planning and tips for brides. Since I blog about this stuff and write for magazines about it anyway, it was a natural fit but it's a completely different ballgame to write about it than when it's actually YOUR wedding. It's the 3rd dress in the video that I love. It's fitted and then flares right under the butt with beautiful tiers and layers of fabric. Mine is also a fit and flare but no big tiers or ruffles so doesn't have as much drama. The beading is really intricate and elegant and but from far away doesn't have that big dramatic effect.

I see it and think it's amazing and maybe I'm just becoming crazy bride as the months get closer lol. Sometimes it's hard not to look at other dresses and since I'm (hopefully) only doing this once, there's so much pressure to pick something PERFECT!

Marlene, I didn't have that tearful moment with my dress and neither did my mom. We both thought, however, that the dress was pretty freaking awesome on me. It helped that my mom liked it too, but in the end it was my dress and what I wanted reflected in that moment. Don't worry about your fiance--he'll love you in your dress because you will be all done up and because you will be glowing. Let your photographer worry about how your dress will photograph--it's their job to make you look gorgeous no matter what you have on. Believe me, you will feel like a million bucks when you're wearing the dress and all the accessories you picked out, when your hair and makeup are done...when everything comes together, it really comes together. It's hard to envision everything until that moment. The most important thing is that you said you fell in love with your dress. That's all that matters...

Honey, I second guessed EVERYTHING about my wedding, including my dress. I even switched my dress because David's Bridals let me (I felt a little funny being a chubby almost 45 year old in a strapless dress). But what I know now is that in either dress I would've looked beautiful to my groom and I would have felt like a princess--even at 45 years old for goodness sake! I floated through that day in a happy, giddy daze. The things that I wasn't sure about were fine, even the bat that flew through the church was ok. All that mattered was that I married my sweetie.
