I found a site that shows you step by step...WITH pictures on how to make your own personalized hanger. I remember seeing a couple of gals on here asking if anyone knew how to make these. Here's the site: http://shellchris.weebly.com/custom-hangers.html Looks pretty simple...wish I had found this...

Looks pretty simple...wish I had found this before I got married so I could have tried to make some for my BM dress hangers. :oP Oh well.

Cydney, Thanks! DH made mine and I bought Cates. I sure wish I had found this. I would have loved to have made her hanger.

It's her bday today, so she is off celebrating. There is no chance she will be on WW tonight.

I have been dying to show this off.

Alright ladies, I'm in the middle of trying this now.

    1. So glad I bought three rolls of wire at Michaels. They were $4 each so it wasn't a huge investment.

    2. I went with @Mrs. Clark's advice and got wooden pants hangers from Target. A 3 pack was $5. I only needed 5, but now I have an extra if I mess up.

So it isn't too difficult to get the wire to bend (using needlenose pliers) but the letters don't look pretty. If you're trying to do a name nicely, look on etsy. I've been trying to find my BM's names in the etsy photos from the women who make these to help me figure out where to put the loops and such.

All in all (half-way through) for $22 to do 5 hangers, I'm so glad Cydney posted this before I paid $100+ on an etsy page for a cute photo prop.

I wonder if there are any tips out there for the best way to shape each letter. It sounds like a simple enough project but I'm worried my letters won't turn out nearly as pretty.

I did one of them tonight You really need to take your time. The names I tried last night I rushed and they didn't turn out nicely.

Here is one of my BM's I started with the name that was the least complicated Smiley smile

I'm afraid to try my hanger; I can hardly sign my new last name there are so many loops and up and downs!

I will say that with this, practice DOES make perfect. I had 2 trials before mine and used a "how to write cursive letter" worksheet on google as a guide for the letters

And for the amount of wire, I used one 12g pack (the smaller one at Michaels which I think is 3 yards) and it made 2

Ahh I'm trying but they look like crap! I have 16 guage wire which should be easier to bend, and I'm still having trouble. Any suggestions? Such a great idea but so hard! Did you girls trace something? Thanks!
