Makeup and hair done for engagement photos?

I think I'm going to try for more natural look since our e pics with be more rustic outdoors in long grass fields and stuff.

I did my own hair and makeup for our pictures. My makeup looked great! My hair had fallen (long story short: for some reason I can't curl my hair two days in a row...) a bit, but it still turned out fine. Looking back, I would have personally had my hair done. I'm confident enough in my makeup ability to do that, but I struggle with my hair sometimes...

I had my trial the day of our photos.

I ended up getting my hair and makeup done and it made me feel really beautiful and secure which was important to me as I was feeling insecure leading up to it. I just got a blow out though and with that and my makeup it was around $60 so not terribly expensive.

I'm doing my own hair but getting my makeup done

My MOH did my hair and makeup which was very nice of her. She did an amazing, so if you have a friend/family member that you trust I would have them do your hair and makeup for you.

For me it was important to feel my absolute best on the day we did our photos. So I went and had a blow out done and a natural looking make-up application. I loved the results and would absolutely recommend doing it.

Follow-up question to this: if I haven't picked an MUA for the wedding yet and my e-pics will be physically taking place nowhere near my wedding location, should I just find an MUA convenient to me for the e-pics and then worry about my "real" MUA later?

I had my hair done because it was extremely humid out (and I don't have all the professional hair care products, or the skill). I have very curly hair naturally and wanted more of a blowout. I did my own makeup.

I had my makeup done so that it would photograph well and then just did my hair myself. This saved me some money and looked more natural, but also got photographs that showed my makeup.

I got a blow out/dry style and pro makeup for E Pics. It looked really similar to how I wear my hair normally, and how I do my makeup normally, but waaaay better. It cost $25 for the hair and $90 for the makeup. It was totally worth it.

I did my hair myself and got my makeup done at Ulta. Ulta doesn't have any requirements of buying any products. Honestly, I forget how much it was, but it was so worth it!

I wanted to see how the makeup would photograph as well as have it be an additional trial. I love how ours turned out.

There is only so much "fixing" a photographer can do as well. Photo shop has limits.

@flightyflutist our wedding isn't super close to where I live so I just found someone convenient to me and I'll worry about booking a different MUA for our wedding later. But if the girl I chose for our engagement shoot ends up being awesome I could always pay her travel fee!
