Makeup and hair trial

Colleen, on November 17, 2021 at 9:46 PM Posted in Hair and Makeup 0 3
I am an older bride. My wife and I have been together 19 years but never had a wedding ceremony or reception. We are having one to celebrate our 20 th anniversary. I am a little in the dark about the hair and makeup trial. Do I need to take someone with me? I was going to go alone. Thanks in advance

Aww, how lovely! Congratulations - 20 years is such a long time.

You don't need to take anyone with you to your trial unless you want to!

You say you are a little in the dark... what are you unsure of? I LOVE makeup and usually do my own but have had it done many times as well, so would be happy to answer any questions you might have!

It's up to you!! I went alone to my hair & makeup trial, but it was also scheduled on a weekday morning so I took time off work to get it done!

Here's a great article you can check out with detailed info on what to expect from your trial:

    Congrats to you!

You can go to your hair and makeup trial solo, or bring a support person. One of my friends, who is pretty timid about conflict and giving direction and rarely gets done up, brought a much more vocal friend to help her communicate to her stylist about the look she wanted and ensure the stylist didn't go overboard - she knew her friend would "put her foot down" before she would and trusted her friend's judgement on what would look good on her but also what would actually reflect her style.

Regardless, you will get to walk out with your look so will have ample opportunity to show off your look and get feedback from others even if you do go solo. But if you aren't sure what you want or how to communicate it to your stylist, it can be helpful to bring someone who you trust and who knows you really well.

I would also ask your stylist if guests are allowed at the salon or not - there may be capacity limits or restrictions in place because of Covid.
