Makeup Artist Nightmare!!!

Krista, on June 22, 2018 at 4:47 PM Posted in Hair and Makeup 0 10
Hi everyone,

I’ve been engaged for about 5 months now and I have almost everything booked except one very important thing to me... the make up! I have oily acne prone skin and I just can’t seem to find an artist who can get the coverage that I’m looking for!): I have gone to 5 different make up artist 3 freelance and 2 professional- although I’ve loved the eyes each time I just feel like the coverage on my face is never enough and their always ends up being redness/acne poking through. I know the coverage is possible because I do it pretty much every day and I’ve seen hundreds of videos of girls who have even severe acne that can still get that full coverage look. Do you guys have any advice on what I should do next or how to go about looking for a make up artist with experience in acne coverage?? Any help is GREATLY appreciated!! I’ve attached a few pics to show what I’ve had done so you all can see sort of what I’m talking about.

I would suggest finding a make up artist that can do airbrush makeup! I've always seen really good coverage from that!

I've heard of this fondation called dermacol it covers up tattoos so I don't see why it wouldn't cover up acne as well I think it's 25 bucks for a tube. There packaging is gold I would check it out!

Thanks everyone! This look is actually airbrushed lol. she did use a pretty generic brand of foundation though and said if we moved forward she could use a higher end brand. Maybe that’s the problem??

If you use your own foundation at home to get the coverage you're looking for, have you asked any of them to use your foundation for your makeup?

You could just have the MUA do your eye makeup and apply your own foundation.

Can they just use whatever foundation you normally use? I struggle with dark spots on the sides of my face that never went away after my last pregnancy and a spot on my nose of super freckles that never go completely away. If my HMUA can't get it to go away and stay away with her stuff, I'll just have her use my foundation that works every time for me.

I really cant see any acne, I do see redness. However, makeup doesn't cover up acne, if you have active pimples on your skin any type of foundation will not cover it. It can cover redness, the artist needs to use a corrector to balance out those tones before foundation is applied.
