Makeup cost

Depends on where you're located. In my city, is would be considered average

Seems a bit pricey. I'm in Las Vegas and I'm getting the following for $1,050.00. There will be two hairstylists and one make-up artist the day of, one of each for my trial.

- Hair and Make-up Trial for Bride ($195 total)

- Day of Hair and Make-up for Bride ($195 total)

- Day of Hair and Make-up for MOH ($195 total)

- Day of Hair and Make-up for MOG ($195 total)

- Day of Hair MOB ($100total)

- 2 Flower Girl Hair Styles ($170 total)

That sounds really expensive for just one person's service, even in a high cost area. Have you looked on Instagram by searching for your area and getting in touch with artists you like? Find out what they charge for services. Thumbtack.com and the vendor tab at the top of the page can render results as well and the reviews page lists their general rates but contact them for what you need specifically.

I think it seems pretty expensive too. I have contacted others and most charge $95 per hour for a trial and around $165-$200 for day of makeup. this one does coordinate with the hairstylist and plan out the whole hair and makeup schedule for me. She also provides a touch up lipstick and blotting paper, etc. But I feel like most would do that

I will be getting married in Vegas and the hair/make up stylist I found is charging about 115/person for hair and make up.

I thought that was for her makeup and the makeup of two additional people? I would agree that if that is just for the bride's makeup then that is wayyyyyy too expensive

It is for myself plus 2! Also a trial for myself. So $850 for essentially 4 applications total

From I have seen in research, beauticians charge per person, not hour. With hourly charges for touch ups or new styles before the reception. But everyone is different.

I used to work for a well known artist in our area, and that’s high. BUT if she’s really really good and you love her work, then maybe it’s worth it.

Got it! I do think that's pretty average for a high cost area in a big city, depending on the quality of the makeup artist. I suppose the trial fee that yours would be charging is on the high end, but the other prices seem standard consider the high cost area. You still have time to shop around though and look for a different MUA if you're not happy with what she's offering! I bet you could find some other really good ones with less expensive trial fees

Thats too much, I would do further research and see if you can find other MUAs where you like their work and their more affordable.

Compared to the quotes I got for me alone in the keys, you’re getting a bargain!

Asheville, NC seem to be about $800 for myself and 3 hair and make ups... but for CA, I would expect about that the artist has good reviews.

Wow that’s expensive to me. My MUA is charging me $120 which includes a consultation and trial (only for myself).

That seems super expensive to me, though I suppose some of it depends on the area. Even in a super expensive area, I still think that seems high. I'd look around for other rates and see what else is out there.

Wow, that seems high. I'm in NJ, which is also a high cost of living area (NYC suburb), and my makeup was $100 day of and $75 for the trial.

I've got hair and makeup for my trial, day of, and two others for $850 range. This is Philadelphia area. But this was also the most competitive pricing I found. I'd try to shop around as much as possible. I sent emails to about 15 different salons looking for quotes.
