Makeup done at Sephora?

Kara, on January 16, 2018 at 1:57 PM Posted in Hair and Makeup 0 15
My wedding is on October 19 and I’m torn between getting my makeup done at Sephora or just doing it myself. I’m not really interested in a makeup artist because my budget does not fit for one. Any suggestions? Did anyone go to Sephora for their wedding makeup? If interested, I’m very fair with dark brown hair and brown eyes.

If you have an ULTA Beauty near you, they are extremely reasonable. I made my appt and it saved me alittle under $150. Good luck

I believe at sephora you get free makeup application with $50 in product bought. I got my makeup done there for a homecoming once and didn't really like it. However, each person that works there will apply it differently. That's a risk to take. You'll also have to obviously travel there as they won't come to you.

Plus 1 for Ulta, and from what I have seen they do a pretty god job. I plan on taking this route as I have no interest in a MUA as well, and don't want an overdone look.

Keep in mind that it isn’t a requirement for them to be licensed makeup artists so unless you know it’s someone who can do a good job, you’re taking a pretty big chance.

I would say you still have to pay them and generally its a $50 minimum. i went to MAC and took a chance on my engagement photos and my artist was AMAZING! you can do trials in between and if you find someone take their card and work with them. My artist gave me his card for future reference. However, you will be quoted their wedding services cost. You let them know what you need and they quote you.

That is my biggest fear! I’m worried that it won’t look natural and look awful in all of my pictures.

I think I'd go to a MAC or Chanel counter in a department store before I went to a Sephora. Most people, at least in my experience, that work at makeup counters in dept. stores are actually trained with the brand to do applications, or they are working makeup artists, and just work at the store as supplemental income.

Do you wear makeup normally? I'm not sure if they still do, but Sephora gives you a free makeover for $50 spent in their store. So you could go get your makeup you need, get the makeover, and see if you like it. Then depending on that, schedule your wedding appointment? I've had my makeup done there and Ulta, and depending on the artist I've had good and bad experiences with both.
