Makeup for Bridal Party Yes or No

So I haven’t been very picky about what I want my ladies to wear. Everyone will have the same color dress and shoe, but they will be different styles. I’m getting their jewelry but I want everyone to wear makeup. The majority of the women don’t wear any, but for photos and uniformity it’s my preference. Plus I just want everyone to have that experience of getting their makeup done professionally. I’m paying half and asking them to cover $40.

Is this unreasonable? I don’t want to make anyone uncomfortable but I really would like this.

Yes, it's unreasonable. If you're requiring them to get their makeup done for your wedding, you should pay for it.

If you are requiring they have their makeup done by a professional, you should 100% cover the entire cost. If you don't want to, allow them to do their own makeup.

As PP's said, if you're requiring their makeup be done professionally, you should cover the whole cost. Even more so if they don't ever wear makeup and they'll likely be uncomfortable.

That’s not a bad price to ask them for. I’m buying their accessories and I’m covering the make up for my girls I’m getting a package deal. This is because they purchasing their dresses and shoes.

I’m not having bridesmaids, but I am paying for Makeup & Hair for my Mother and Sister so I can have that real “getting ready” experience! And I don’t want them to have the financial burden, because it’ll be $200 for each of them.

Yes, that is unreasonable. If you are requiring them to have their makeup done professionally, no matter what the cost, then you have to pay for it.

Although $40 isn’t a ton of money, you should still cover the entire cost if you’re requiring your bridesmaids to have their makeup done.
