I did my own makeup for my engagement photos and was considering doing it for my wedding. I think I need more color in my cheeks, a red more like the color of my shirt (mine is a little dark) and to find a way to get my foundation to stay on my nose (my nose runs when it's cold).

Do you all think it would be good enough with those tweaks or should I hire someone?

If you think DIY, what are your recommendations on makeup? I realized I need to use a primer.

My makeup includes:

Wow you did an amazing job! I did my own makeup for my wedding and I have no regrets I don’t generally wear a lot of makeup and I was worried I wouldn’t look like myself if I had it professionally done. I use all Mary Kay products.

Thank you! Yours turned out really good. Did the Mary Kay makeup stay all day? I haven't tried their brand before. My makeup style is inspired by the 50s with bold lips and attention grabbing cheekbones, but have very subtle eyes with just simple black eyeliner and brown eyeshadow, so I'm worried I won't like it if someone else does my makeup.

I'm no makeup expert, but if you're comfortable being your own makeup artist I say go for it! You can always use money you would have spent on a pro on something else. I really like the lip color your chose in your e-pics, by the way!

I put my makeup on at 10am, and I didn’t touch up all day. When I got back to our room after our reception ended (probably 5something) it still looked perfect. Then we went out to dinner and hung out with some friends until midnight and it was still like, mostly good by then 😂

that first picture I posted was taken at around 3pm I think, so that’s what it looked like after 5 hours and a few tears :p

Thank you! I was debating if the lip color would be a little too dark. I might play with mixing a lighter shade with it to add more depth.

You look fab girl. Great work on your makeup. I'd love to do my own makeup for the big day but I'm not that confident. I'm thinking about using this professional mobile wedding makeup artist when we go down under for the ceremony. It'll be easier becasue she can just come to our hotel in the morning. She's an affordable makeup artist based in Brisbane, Australia.

I still really wished I had your skills though

Overall I do think you need more blush on your cheeks, the camera tends to wipe A LOT of that out. However that is a stunning lip on you! I think you did a great job

I love your makeup! I also did my own makeup for my wedding.

I agree with adding a bit more color to your cheeks. I'm a huge fan of Tarte's Amazonian Clay blushes, but I also love MAC's blushes because they have a large color range with lots of different finishes. NARS also has good blushes.

If you need a good primer just around your nose, I recommend Milk Makeup's Hydrogrip Primer. You only need a little bit because it spreads easily, so you could probably just get a sample from Sephora and make that last. Follow it up with a good setting powder and really press the powder onto your face.

Thanks! I find that powder makes me look kinda cakey. But, maybe I just need to add primer all over my face to get it to stay smoother. It only gets cakey in my tzone and chin so I guess I'm sweating a little but not enough for it to come off? I don't see to have the problem without powder.
