Makeup to cover Scarring

Andrea, on October 21, 2021 at 10:50 AM Posted in Hair and Makeup 0 11
Hello all! I need some advice. I unfortunately have to have a mole removed that’s right below my collarbone. I’m having it removed in November and I’ll have a month to heal until my December 18 wedding. Does anyone have advice on what makeup to use to cover scarring?

I personally haven't ever needed a makeup for this BUT I've heard wonderful things about Dermablend's Cover Creme. It's not the cheapest thing around, but I have a friend who uses it mixed with a little bit of moisturizer for special occasions to cover a birth mark! Allure mentioned it in their list of full coverage foundations too, and they mention it specifically to cover tattoos, scars, and birthmarks. You could for sure Google foundations for tattoo coverage and that will get you more than enough coverage, I would think!

Mac can probably work. It has a line of professional, full coverage foundation

I'd also use scar creams and scar sheets. They help fade scars

I think a basic foundation or concealer that matches your skin around that area would be enough. If necessary you could ask your makeup artist to cover it. Also keep an eye on how it heals because sometimes they leave barely any scar and it won't even be visible.

Ilmakiage.com or Dermablend is your best bet

Being fair skinner, I've had a lot of moles removed and best thing for me was to keep changing the bandage and keeping the spot moisturized. None of mine have left scars and a month to heal should be enough time. Can you get in sooner to have it removed? More time could be helpful. I wouldn't worry too much if you follow your Dr treatment and recovery plan.

I think you could use a tattoo cover-up makeup that might work best wishes

Ask your make up person. Since they are a professional, they should know exactly how to cover up a scar! Good luck.

I just got a mole removed in September on my back. The scar is barely noticeable now. I honestly wouldn’t put anything on it besides what they tell you until it’s fully healed.

I have really fair skin. Thanks for the advice! They are getting me in as soon as possible so unfortunately I can’t move it up any faster. Thanks!
