Makeup touch ups

Tiffany, on July 12, 2020 at 12:32 PM Posted in Hair and Makeup 0 8
What did or is everyone doing for makeup as far as touch ups? We're wanting to do first look, ceremony, pics, reception in that order and I'm unsure if i just want touch ups after first look and ceremony or if i should spend the extra and throw in having her do it after pics too. Do i really need it after pics?

I think it depends on the climate of your wedding day / location. I got married in February and we did our day in that order as well, the only thing I had to touch up was my lips. I did airbrush and everything else stayed put through everything (including dancing and an after party).

I got married in July, on a record-breaking hot day. I had my hair and make-up done in the morning, and then we had first look, ceremony, more pictures, and reception. I didn't have any touch ups (not even lip stick) and I still had a hard time scrubbing everything off at the end of the night. My makeup stayed put throughout it all.

We're in AZ and it's on 10/3 so still a little warm. I had my trial yesterday and was out and about all day in 110 degree heat and it wasn't until about hour 6 that it started wearing down so thinking October will be a little better. But I'm worried about tears more than anything lol I'm a crier

I plan on doing makeup then first look and pics with the bridal party and all that before the ceremony. Then makeup Touch up right before the ceremony only because I will be a hot mess from crying after first look I know I will to make sure the ceremony pics are good. This was also in the time frame of my make up artists being there as while the first look is happening they are doing the moms and an aunt so I would jump in and be the last right before they leave again. So it wasn’t any extra charge for my mua

Hmmm good to know. I'm in AZ and had my trial yesterday and it lasted pretty well. I'm thinking I'll be good with touch up just after the ceremony

As long as she uses waterproof stuff you should be fine! I cried like a baby during all of it and my eye makeup didn’t move at all

I didn't do touch-ups (makeup was finished at 4PM, wedding ended at 11PM). I had mascara, q-tips, and powder in my clutch but I never used it. I'm also not a crier, so that wasn't an issue (I did have a handkerchief in case). I've tried airbrush makeup before and I hated it after like 30 minutes so I went for conventional makeup.

A good makeup artist using high quality products should not require a touch up. Talk to them about your concerns (heat, sweating, crying, etc)
