Just wanted to share my awesome makeup trial experience!
My makeup artist offers one trial run in her bridal package, which she recommends using for a special occasion, event, or engagement photos. To help with costs and so that I could see how the makeup would look in professional pictures, I opted to get my makeup done for our engagement session and I'm SO glad I did. I have never felt so confident!
Makeup Trial!
I wish I knew all of the products she used, but here are a few details:
- airbrush foundation, blended in, with traditional powder products layered over it - this was great for my oily/combo skin!
- I had a small breakout this week and my skin is prone to redness, but you can't tell!
- custom blended lipstick; she'll be getting me a color I can purchase for the wedding (if I want), for touch-ups and to wear again!
- fake lashes, cut into smaller pieces instead of an entire strip
- none of the makeup transferred onto clothes or my FH during the shoot!
- the appointment was scheduled for 2 hours but took about 90 minutes; it'll take about 45 on the wedding day.
I showed her 3 inspiration pictures and she did a phenomenal job of giving me the vibe I was going for without simply duplicating a look; I felt like she really personalized the inspo to me.
Even though I personally couldn't have been happier with my makeup, it was nice to see how much my FH liked it too! He was absolutely beaming and kept taking pictures of me, lol.
I was comfortable going with a 'medium'-level glam look, but if you don't wear a ton of makeup day-to-day, it will seem jarring at first. Give yourself a few minutes to get used to it, and be sure to step into natural light (and in front of a camera, if you can!).
