Makeup trial illegal

Marcia, on July 23, 2020 at 11:33 PM Posted in Hair and Makeup 0 11
I reached out to a makeup artist to get a trial, and she said that they are unable to do makeup at all because every one must be wearing a mask per state regulations. Has anyone else had this problem? I have some time for the restrictions to ease up, but I worry that masks are here to stay, and I have serious concerns about my ability to do my own makeup

I suppose like everything else COVID related, it depends on where you are. Im in Cali and we took a few steps backwards last week. Now restaurants can’t have indoor dining. So they’ve been setting up in their parking lots, Also the personal service industry is shut down again (hair salons, barbers, makeup artists, eyelash extensions, spas, nail salons, etc). Gyms, malls, theaters etc. closed again. The days have been beautiful, sunny and warm but with so many restrictions and places closed, it definitely doesn’t feel like summertime in SoCal 😖

I've read this same problem several times in posts. I think you will just have to be a little more patient and wait it out. Do any of your friends do make up? Maybe they can help you out?

You're not getting married until March 2021. Wait to see how thing go between now and then with mask regulations!

I do have a friend who does make up, maybe she would be able to come. The wedding will be small but I would gladly add her so she could do my makeup

I'm in Ohio, and my MUA is just requiring that I wear a mask during eye makeup application; she will have a mask on the entire time, and has special sanitary procedures for her products.

I mean as the other guy said your wedding isn't until March 2021, so you have more than enough time. As for me, I booked my HMUA before we went with the trial due to COVID, so now I'm just waiting till things open to actually have a proper trial.

I had my trial before this started, but I am getting my makeup done while there's a mask requirement. (I was just going to have eye makeup, but I ended up agreeing to have it put on my whole face.) Where I live you are required to wear a mask, but I guess it can be taken off as needed for "personal care services." Also, oddly, the place I'm going has started doing hair and makeup again, but not manicures, so even if unmasked makeup services are allowed, specific places may just not be comfortable with them yet.

Salons in our state are still required to have client and stylist masked at all times, so you can't really get your makeup done. That doesn't sound out of the norm to be, but it all depends on state and local regulations which vary depending on where you are.

About a week ago, the News interviewed a hairdresser and an eyebrow threader who were now setting-up outside of their salon and doing their work outside. They also showed the owner of a small gym who set up mats, multiple canopies and other items in the parking lot so that they could still hold classes. It’s wild!
