Makeup Trial Today

Adara, on June 30, 2019 at 8:31 PM Posted in Hair and Makeup 0 23
Hey brides so I had my makeup trial today. My only concerns were how it held up throughout the day. We also took our engagement photos outside and it seems it didn’t hold as nicely with all the poses we did. Otherwise I liked it and have some changes I would make for wedding day such as a different eye and more bush and different lashes. What are your thoughts? Be honest. Before and after shots. Last one is after the shoot being in the sun

Your make up looks good! But if you’re not happy with how it held up, maybe try looking for another option? Did you get airbrush or make sure your make up artist was using waterproof make up? I also had a make up trial for my engagement Photoshoot and I had some similar issues, for example my lashes started lifting up. I decided to do another trial with another place and was much happier with the result of the look and how long it lasted.

I actually think it’s quite beautiful but I agree if it didn’t hold up consider airbrushing? I heard it holds up pretty much all day

I think it looks beautiful on you. I really like the colors, makes your eyes pop. Of course you want it to last so you may want to look into other options.

I think she your mua should use a different shade of foundation on you. You face is way lighter than your neck and chest..maybe ask her to go one shade darker?

Yes it was way too light which I realized but didn’t see how much until I took it off half my face.

In my opinion I feel like the makeup didn't really match your skin.. the eye shadow looked great. The foundation needed to be a darker color. Other than that I feel like your artist did an ok job. It's also about what you like and what you are comfortable with.

For real right? For the first pic I was like "ohhh her makeup looks so natural and nice" I didnt realize she actually wasnt wearing any yet. 😄

The makeup color on her face looks too different from her natural skin color. And it also seemed a bit cakey. But she still looked nice.

Yes. I think I just want less. A nice eye and lip but less face makeup and no it didn't match. Thanks for the honest opinions ladies.

I thought your before pic was your trial. Girl, you are naturally gorgeous! I agree with others your foundation is too light but otherwise very lovely (still natural).

You may consider getting another makeup artist. As a fellow African-American bride, you HAVE to have someone who can match your skin tone. If it helps any, I found my makeup artist on Thumbtack & she did a wonderful job. And more eyeshadow to make your eyes pop. You have really pretty eyes. They need to stand out more.

Thanks everyone I talked with my artist and she is super nice and appreciated the feedback. We will test another look before the wedding and she’s willing to stay with me for pictures for touch ups.

Thanks. Yes I understand. I may even get my own foundation because the ones I use for myself match perfectly. This is why we do trials! appreciate the feedback
