Makeup trial yay or nay

Monica, on December 6, 2019 at 5:47 PM Posted in Hair and Makeup 0 13
Im currently booking my makeup artist and now that I think about it I probably should have done a trial before even booking her. But I really like her work so I decided to book her before its too late.

Im contemplating on whether I should do a makeup trial. The price is really the only thing stopping me. I just feel like 😩😩 another $100 wahh.
Has anyone got their bridal makeup done without a trial?

I didn’t have a hair or makeup trial. But I also trusted my person and wasn’t set on a particular look. It turned out fine for me but everyone is different.

I did the trial because I have never had my make up professionally done and I wanted to make sure she could do a good job on my skin tone. Also, I used that session and lined it up with my engagement pics so that I didn’t feel like it was a waste.

I didn’t do a makeup trial before booking, but am planning on doing a hair/makeup trial before the wedding. I don’t have a particular look in mind, but I want the opportunity to try some things out and be able to make changes if I end up not liking it. I just don’t think there will be time on the wedding day to make tweaks and adjustments.

I booked before my trial but the trial helped so much. There were decisions I wouldn’t have made without the trial.

Oh I would definitely do one. My MUA did a great job but the first eye look she did on me made me look like a clown. For my taste, she used way too much darkness, she took it up way too high, and the eye shape was wrong. I absolutely hated it. I told her what was wrong and she redid it and I loved it, but there’s no way we could do that the day of.

I’m not doing hair or makeup trial. I’ve seen plenty of her work and don’t think it’s necessary. Plus it’s just bridal makeup (not movie special effects makeup) Lol!!

I did one because it was included in the bridal package price (which was definitely pretty expensive). To "make it count," I scheduled my trial for the day of my engagement pictures; I was super confident in my MUA so that didn't make me nervous or anything.

Even though I didn't really need a trial to test out her abilities, it was nice to have one. She really took her time and got my feedback along the way (just kept telling her everything looked perfect, no changes, lol). I also got to see how well the look photographed.

If you opt for a trial and you already got your engagement pictures done or don't want to use it for that, you could do it on a day with a special occasion - bridal shower, Valentine's Day, etc. If not and you're confident in her portfolio, I'm sure it'll work out fine without one!

So everyone has been saying they booked their trial the same time as their engagement photos & im like man I dont have anything coming up that I would need makeup for. UNTIL your comment and a light went off like DUHH. My bridal shower is in January so why not do the trial and have my makeup done for the bridal shower

Perfect! Smiley heart (My MUA mentioned that she gets lots of requests for bridal shower makeup; I honestly wouldn't have thought about that either if she hadn't said something!)

😩 shes booked for my shower lol. I will think about it, I still have a few months. It feels slightly like a waste but maybe at some pt I might freak out about how my skin will look (acne skin over here) && then I will book the trial.

My sister used Laura from ProGlamour and she was great, didn't push for a makeup trial and was fairly priced. Loved the results.

I was in between different styles so I tried them on and I even had my veil when we did the trial so we were able to see how it was going to look all put together! It was worth it because we changed a few things that I noticed I wanted done differently.
