Or is it like any makeup at all? Maybe a bride had a huge make up fiasco that they had to pick up after, or they had issues with an artist taking over the suite?

You can go to a salon the day of and get your make up done. It's just way more convenient to do it there.

Exactly!! And I’m definitely not spending extra money on a hotel room just to do make up

I have never heard of it before... I thought a bridal suite is where the ladies get dressed and ready and hair and makeup is to be done in there 😫

It can be. When we were venue hunting, we stumbled upon a budget historic home that had been converted for weddings in the backyard/dining room. The place was so small that barely twenty people would fit and the "bridal suite" was the one bathroom in the house. It was smaller than the bathroom in my first apartment, which was a studio! The intent was clearly just for the bride to change there with her makeup and hair already done. Not to say this is a cheap venue, but they might have their reasons for not allowing makeup.

Its super weird though. Did they not mention it to you when you signed a contract?

Interesting! Never heard of that. But I suppose one MUA messed around and screwed it up for all of them.

So is your hair stylist able to do your hair in the bridal suite?? Or are they banned too?

Did they tell you their reasonings of why not? Our venue has a bridal suite and my hair n make-up will be coming to do my hair n make-up n also my bridal party in the morning since we get the venue from 7am to 12am.

I think it's ridiculous so where do they expect you to get your hair and make-up done? Did you know of this when you signed your contract? Or was this said to you afterwards?

My girls and I had hair and make up done at the salon and honestly I much preferred doing it that way over the MUA coming to me. With doing it at the salon you dont have to worry if your MUA forgot anything and all of their stuff will be in it's normal place so it will make the process go more smoothly because they wouldn't have to search for a specific brush or item.

My venue is the same way, they will allow you to get dressed in the bridal suite, just not to have hair or makeup done. I believe it is partially because of the timeline they provide for the day. Will probably have it done at the makeup artists salon because it is close and has better lighting anyways!

I came across this once when venue shopping. They said no hairstylists because the electricity wasn’t up to snuff and it was a smaller room....? I guess it makes sense - it was a historic house, but it was a limiting factor nonetheless.

I have heard of that at a venue near me and I believe it to be their biggest complaint. They offer a bridal suite but no MUA allowed. My guess is, they don't want makeup staining their furniture and what not.
